My favorite method in clearing a necromancer tower is to lure the undead away from the necromancer, kill them, and drop their corpse somewhere far from the tower. Rinse and repeat until the necromancers run out of corpses to reanimate.

I just punched a vampire in the head so hard it jammed his skull through his brain.
I'm going to punch stuff to death.
EDIT: That adventurer died quickly. An archer shot ONE ARROW and it tore my brain.

For no reason whatsoever, there are human clothes littered around the place I spawned.
I'm doing the most logical thing and choosing better stuff.
EDIT: By the way, unarmed attacks are REALLY good at breaking skulls. I kicked a Maceman in the head and punched a Spearman in the head. Both died.

My swordsman, who wields a two-handed sword in one hand, just survived a bogey attack.
Win.

I hath slain about 20 bogeymen and a forest titan after four days and nights of solo travel. I approach the human king, regaling him with tales of my mighty quest. He proceeds to give me the whole "You have earned great respect..." blah blah blah "slay boss whatshisname in the castle dungeon." I peruse the dungeon, slay a few of his followers, put on armor I stole from him, and promptly get stabbed in the throat by him. FML

There just might be an eensy-teensy bug where the cabinets and/or furniture spontaneously disappear and/or explode. I like the Michael Bay theory better though
That's not as wacky as the bug I found out for myself: Instant cockroaches!

I want to make an archer, but I think that this class his very hard to play. You are forced to gather warrior arround you before going attack a target, because of the weakness of your character (in close combat) and your shots are very slow. When you shot an arrow, your enemies have the time to reach you, even you're far of them, because you can't move until your arrow touches your target.
And, generally, I play solitary warriors, or just with one or two companions. And I don't talk about the fragility of the archers and the difficulty to have a large stock of arrows with you (because of the weight).

So, if somebody can explain me how to play an archer, I listen him. I tried many times but I have never succeeded to make survive my bowman more of seven days.

Arrows travel at the speed of light,it just takes an atrocious amount of time for your character to get ready for another shot,I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you could disable the readying for another shot so you could move backwards or something, but I can't find it,you pretty much have two options,in your first option you could (S)neak around and unload bunches of arrows from the shadows because you can't be spotted from 5 tiles or further and the AI is too stupid to look around, your second option is to get some melee skill and light amounts of armor (I recommend Mail shirts, chainmail leggings, and some other stuff, don't bother with leather.) and fire off one or two arrows and engage in melee when the enemy get's close.

EDIT and next time you have a question, ask it here

I lashed a Fallen Necromancer to death with a silver whip. Now I have two human necromancers, a risen necromancer, and another fallen necromancer.
Crap.
Good thing I'm a Fallen myself.
EDIT: Killed all those, now I have a Risen necromancer who killed two kings and a Fallen necromancer who killed other stuff to kill.
I am the king killer killer. Also I'm now a necromancer.
EDIT2: Killed both quickly. There are more necromancers to murderize, I assume.

don't bother with leather

leathers from yetis, trolls, rhinos and other big creatures (anything larger than a cow, or gorillas) seem to deflect well. With leather stuffs from smaller creatures I pretty much agree with you

I was abusing the adv-bodyswap feature in DF hack with a Giant raven corpse, and after that usually the main character you made is your default companion yeah?
Well I flew far away enough that the dwarf necromancer was not in the list, only showing You, so I could not go to main menu and reset to original character like usual.
Soo I came back and bodyswapped back with Dwarf and what do you know! More bugs:

This was the original inventory set I had
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
This has potential for quality abuse muahahaha

EDIT: Shame on me I lost a lot of my speed (1552 -> 975) :o or rather the heaviness of my items have factored in already.
EDIT EDIT: Oh wait never mind its the new 'refined' equipment I have that is so heavy. Damn those assorted bone ornaments.
Though when I do this bug DF times out whenever I return to the site where I enacted the bug. Will try again to replicate
Okay DFhack gave me Nemesis Unit Load Failed. It was worth a try

So taking what I learn from playing with gods, I took a random dwarf god for a spin, omer. retired her right after overthrowing a bandit camp and checked her legends page.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
other than that gods don't accept quests and you have to manually search for the site... good thing the game maps where they are on the travelmode anyway.

After my highly successful swordsman Ucim, who wielded a 2-handed sword in 1 hand, I created a guy named Asmur Questoaks. Asmur met a priest, who told him to "praise darkness". He decided that the priest was a Servant of the Shadow, and killed everybody nearby (including the priest) and ran away.

Then he got a bullcrap death from gobbo archers.

I only recently got into Adventure Mode(Only recently got good at it, I should say) and so far my exploits with this mode have been hilarious!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
(Sorry for the formatting of that, BTW)

The first one had me in a fit of laughter. Beware, brave adventurer! This foul beast of the night ate some chicken! As for the second one it was my first time as a successful vampire, my companions turned on me when they saw me feeding and promptly filleted my already semi-disabled body... I managed to strangle/bite all three of them to death with just my right leg...

I don't know what to say about the seven year old goblin slave who's a-okay with inbreeding... He was in a fortress inhabited only by another, seven year old, goblin slave and a Lady...
