Nope, maces suck. I try not to train or acquire macedwarves in fortress mode, though in adv mode it's easier to get a silver flail or iron/steel morningstar, which aren't bad. I've got a divine metal mace, which is only good for training because it's as unlikely to kill as an adamatine mace. Divine metal morningstars can generate, so it's worth training for that and satisfying the "Martial training" need.

Light saber means whip.

I kinda would've assumed that'd be scourges, since whips can't sever limbs despite their epic damage.

Hearthfolk isn't enough honor, I shall make you lord! In fact, fiefdoms for everyone! Take two, they're small. What do you mean, you're already occupied? Is ruling the Stuntpants of Peeking as much as you can handle?

Everyone with me is now a lord or lady, which makes a lot of the messages confusing. I can assume the lord falling over and shaking enemies with his teeth is the Hunter, but I can't tell which one is singing poorly or making an ass of themselves trying to sound like a drum.

Whips are awesome for what they do, but not very versatile. Anything that can feel pain is going to be wrecked by it.

In an adventure i just had tonight, i started out as a goblin hearthperson in a human mead hall, and for some reason this mead hall happened to be made up of one floor, and was only a single 12x9 room. In other words it was more like a prison cell, and like eight humans including a lady were just hanging about in this super small box. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hm, you can fill a mug from any container. I didn't think to test whether this wakes the mummy until after I'd killed the only one in the area.

So basically good for vampires, not so much for zombies. owo

Urgh, I despise the new quest system, I liked the part from the old conversation system where I could just tell people I did the thing. If I understand right, I have to find the conflict report in the spread rumors menu where I killed the bandit leader, or at least where he died. Only problem is, I can't seem to ever find it, even using the filter system.

Don't bother telling people about bandits anyways, not significant enough fame.

If you get any big kills then make note of which page they're on (counter up in the top right as I recall) and then just spam down to that page. If you sort by fight it will list those, I wish it would let you sort by slew/struck down/killed/whatever.

Sing and dance and get good at it, tell people about that instead of stuff you killed, you'll get famous faster.

Instead of dropping off my escort bard, I picked up her husband, a dancer, and took them to a tavern in town to leave them. I'd hoped I would run into them later, spontaneously entertaining, but I didn't see them in any of the taverns in town. Dancers are so scarce in taverns, I'll try anything to get new dance forms. I can't recall seeing any human dancers, and the elven dancers I've seen never appear in the taverns, so where else do they perform?

I picked up a Tigerwoman crossbowman around the same time I dropped her off; but she's just not viable. She's so overburdened by what little she carries that she moves like she's dragging a body. My cripples move faster than her. She doesn't perform well at anything. I'd send her back where she came from, but she's the only survivor of her gang. I wiped out the rest, but overlooked her because she didn't even come into view when the rest of them attacked me.

Bah, I was just doing it for the "help someone" thing anyway. Who needs fame when you have skeletons? (Thanks for the advice though, I'll keep it in mind.)

Speaking of speedy cripples though, I have one peasant skeleton that is missing everything, due to the traps in his own tomb(s), except for his head, neck, upper body, and right arm and right hand. He is literally the fastest of my horde and is always just about four squares behind me at my full sprint of 3.9+

There's also a severed head that rolls along quite fast and has made a habit of biting crocodiles.

The perks of fame aren't that many. The asskissing I could do with out, but the asskissing with free booze is something I couldn't pass up. I get a kick out of seeing my face on coins, though. "Oh look, the local bandits have printed me a stack of business cards!" I can't wait to see my companions get their own, now that they're all nobility.
