Tale of caution when modding reactions
« on: March 14, 2010, 02:47:11 pm »

Do not make custom reaction that outputs 250 coke from libite. And certainly, do not let that reaction run on repeat while DF is minimized. It will turn 160 dorf, 50 fps fortress to 20 fps one in few seconds.

In related news, huge amount of items most certainly drops your FPS by a lot.

Shoot, I consider the point when the fortress becomes unplayable due to lag to be the only winning point in dwarf fortress...

Heh, and for an encore, don't set the [trade_capacity] of pack animals or wagons to anything more than a 5-digit number.

My FPS went from 60 to 12 the instant they arrived.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.

That's funny, I've never set it to more than 99999. I didn't even know why, I was new to modding in the game. Heck, I still am!

your hoard, your dwarves, and your fortress.
I prefer Hoard, Horde, and Hovel...

You could win at embark on the PC I use if you make anything over 2x2, lol.
