Enable 2 weapons on him, it's the only way to make them wield 2 handed weapons.

Oddly enough I hadn't put much thought into the entity progression.  I'm implementing your suggestions next patch, they seem balanced enough.
I'll give it a shot. Might be because I also had him wielding a shield.

Just like to say sorry for the lack of graphics from me, its been due to the death of my uni internet and sudden amount of work lately, I'll get my butt in gear as your doing such a sterling job mal, especially loving those dragons!  :)

Just like to say sorry for the lack of graphics from me, its been due to the death of my uni internet and sudden amount of work lately, I'll get my butt in gear as your doing such a sterling job mal, especially loving those dragons!  :)

It's cool, I've been slowing down myself to keep up with real work.  Do em as you feel the need, there's no rush.

You need 3 Granite Blocks. Granite was traditionally used to make anvils (hardness, lack of brittleness, heat resistance and weight), there are other rocks that could be used but they are a small % of rocks in the world, granite is fairly common.

Long (sort of) time player, first time poster, and like so many of we first timers, I come with a question:

For some odd reason, despite having the materials (hemitite ore, charcoal, magma smelter, etc) I am unable to produce Pig Iron and therefore steel.

Is there some sort of feature change I am unaware of, or has charcoal been removed as a flux material in one of the modifications?

Charcoal is not a flux material, it is a coal material. A quick look at the raws and a comparison to the vanilla raws reveals that the Pig Iron reaction is unchanged. It is as follows:

The one thing that was missing from your list was a Flux material (a search of the relevant raws indicates that all the usual fluxes* are present as well as colore3d marble).

Huh..I must have been stacking the wrong stuff while I was playing.

My bad.  That's what I get for playing a fortress up until 2:00 am...and having it wiped out by orcs  :-X

I have been having a curious issue of Orc Sieges starting in year 2 and then new sieges showing up every season.
Is this normal?

Also, sweet bloody Armok, my champions, they are useless against the orcs.
