kind of a "website-bug" dev_now.html
« on: February 08, 2010, 01:36:30 pm »

This is bothering me for quite some time now.

When I open the site http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/dev_now.html on my computer, the background goes black and any action leaves white gibberish space, thus making it impossible to read more than the first entry.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It is only happening on my home computer (Linux with firefox), does not relate to javascript, and has no obvious reason written in the source code of the page. Where may I look? Ah, and I've never seen this on another site.

That's not a website issue. That's a browser bug.

I have seen something similar happen in firefox on ubuntu exactly once. A restart fixed it, never happened since. I have no idea what it was.

It may be my browser, but it still is strange.
I'm having no problems viewing the other bay12 pages, for example the "developement- what is coming next". And I see no reason why my browser would behave normally on every page except this one. Still, it is not very important, as I also have internet at work and looking up development reports counts as "research". *cough*

I don't know if this helps, but Firefox has started screwing up on this site for me as well.

EDIT: Happened again:

Might, unlikely though, be page size?

Maybe it's something to do with the size of the page? The Dev Now isn't exactly small. Does it do it with another browser?

Well, my problem only happens on the forums, but recently Firefox keeps trying to save random webpages as DreamWeaver files.

Firefox doesn't just randomly start saving pages.
(DreamWeaver is Adobe's idea of making web design easy, a DreamWeaver file in this instance is likely just an HTML or something)
Did you by chance download an extension that could do so?

Probably not, I only have three that I use. Session Manager, Chatzilla, and the English Spellcheck.

Of those, only session manager does anything like saving webpages, but not as html files. It saves the firefox session you've got open, and then you can load it later. It's like an extended history system.
