My friend took a picture of me goofing around in band practice.  Turns out the key to taking good pictures is not to know you're having your picture taken.

Today the environment decided to channel some December our way despite the fact that it was like +10C just the other day. I shit you not, it was a snowstorm and sunny at the same time.

The VDNKh (meaning roughly "Exhibition of the Achievements of the Popular Economy" is a park complex with exhibition pavillions in a variety of styles, built in the Soviet times. Back then, each pavillion would host a permanent exhibition on a given topic, like "spacecraft" or "horse breeding" or "gardening" or whatever. Each of the USSR's national republics had its own pavillion as well. Now, some still host the same exhibitions they did then, some are closed, and some are repurposed. It's still visited mainly for its extensive park complex and because various events are often held there. Like, this winter, the Moscow government opened a big ice rink in the main square. The photo above shows the glass dome of the Space pavillion, albeit from a rather unlikely angle - it's taken from the backyard of the whole place, since I didn't initially plan this whole lecture thing.

A general view, also backyardish - taken from the direction of the English park. The statue dude is the Russian biologist Michurin, and the rocket visible in the distance is a Vostok, like Gagarin's.

Meat industry pavillion. The cows' faces are hilarious, because three of them are calm, and the fourth is like what the fuck.

Plus, the bull has a COLLOSSAL STONE DONGER.

I've never played the games myself (read the first book, though). I know Glukhovsky himself used to live near VDNKh when he was younger, and that's why Artyom lives there as well in the beginning of the book, if I remember correctly.

Actually Russia is quite good in the field of mathematics, and I always wanted to learn the language... Maybe during my master's degree I'll have the time.
