Oh my, that's one beautiful cello(?). Though it's kinda hard to tell just from the picture :P
I love it :D
I personally play cello as well.

That is an electric upright bass, actually.  You both guessed better than Furtuka, though.  He thought it was a mandolin.

Ah. Well, I was in the right clef, haha. Though like I said, it is a bit hard to tell without it having some sort of object to compare to :P

Yeah, fair enough.  I was actually thinking it might be a bit hard to tell the scale without an object of comparison.  Oh well.

I'll show a picture of my new baby, though!

Spoiler: $5 Miniature rose :3 (click to show/hide)

First purchase from my new salary that wasn't food, housing, or transportation~

Also, I was doing my week's onion shopping at the grocery store today and something really nice happened.  A little girl turned to her mother and asked, quietly: "Mommy, is that person a man or a woman?"  The mom turned to me, gave me a pretty serious once-over, and turned back to respond: ". . . I don't know!  But sometimes we ask ourselves these questions inside, and we don't know, and we decide it doesn't matter if we know or not."

I've still got it >_<  So full of warm fuzzies right now.

EDIT: Also, Bauglir!  E-egg?!  How was it?

You missed a golden opportunity to respond with a simple "Yes," and bathe in the confusion. Every now and then, Wolfeyez and I will be out to dinner, and our server will approach from behind me with an, "Evening, ladies!" The fallout is hilarious, and I don't even have to be mean or anything.

It was delicious. Hard-boiled and chopped for maximum sprinkling. The saddest event of the weekend, after running out of sour cream, was running out of eggs.

However, I have learned a tragic thing. Extended slow cooking browns the soup, until it loses all its beautiful redness and a portion of its flavor. Never do this. At least I have the stovetop example yet.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Wha... The kid, I can understand, but how the hell couldn't an adult woman recognize the gender of another person, at least a person looking like you? People never cease to amaze me. And I'm saying that as a guy who had more than a fair share of strangers referring to me as 'ma'am' in the past.

Still, fuzzies.

It helps that I've lost a whole lot of weight directly off my butt recently, that I was wearing loose (and not very fitted or girly) trousers, that my shoes are pretty masculine, that my shirt is low-cut but I've got no sign of boobs, and that I didn't smile at the ~heart-warming sight of the two of them~ once.  In fact I just turned around and gave them an (un-manicured) eyebrow while the mom stared at my ass.

Yes, if you look at me in general I'm pretty delicate and sort of scream GIRL.  But people usually look for T&A, personal grooming style, gendering of clothing, and body language, so I have confused a number of young girls--and, on a number of occasions, adult women ._.
