Yo me nego creer que algunos de ustedes puedan hablar en Turkish de los Ottomans.
Ben ma-keleçe tyl. Jar u-jap-jabyz.

Had interpreted it as : You wont have me believe that you can speak Ottoman Turkish

Yeah, it basically means "I can't believe that any of you can speak Ottoman Turkish."

...This is like linguistic masturbation or something.

I took French classes years ago. I didn't retain much, aside from basic mechanics and a couple dozen words (I may be under- or over-shooting on that number, but I don't feel like thinking of and counting all the French words I know).

Don't make me bust out my reference library, and drop some way-rude linguistics up in here.

Oh my god.

Pics of my library in the morning, if I can get batteries for the camera.

Mine is actually all still in boxes.  :-\

Someday I will have a big, beautiful bookshelf on which my horde can lovingly gather dust.

I can't afford books :| On the bright side, there's a totally awesome library a fifteen minute walk down the street from me.

I have books in my bed, books on my floor, books on my table, books under my chair, and books on no less than four bookshelves.  Double-stacked, in most cases.

I've asked for nothing but books and the occasional DVD since I was old enough to ask for gifts, and the yardsale gods have been very gracious.

Yeah, I also like to keep a good book or two under my mattress.

Actually, it's a line of 20-30 math textbooks I received from my deceased grandfather's stash.  There wasn't any space for them elsewhere.

ah! that was what  <algunos de ustedes< stand for.

I may have actually invented the word "algunos", but that's basically what I was shooting for.  It's the best translation I have for "all y'all".

And if we're going to start posting nerdcore pics of how many books we have stacked in the most haphazard fashions, I should get my camera working.  I guess I don't have as many as you guys though...

It was worse when I was younger and hadn't really tried to make things fit... I used to have to wade through these knee-high piles as I was trying to get around, and the occasional crate.

Room still looks like someone pelted books and pairs of pants everywhere, though =/  No matter how hard I try, I am not a neat person.
