Genderless reproduction
« on: January 20, 2010, 07:00:43 pm »

It occurred to me while I was looking through the tags that only species with the normal male/female thing were able to reproduce. But imagine giant ameobas or slimes that reproduce by splitting? It wouldn't make any sense to have male and female slimes running about making babies the normal way.

This would be great, and I hope with the new HFS that it's coming.

Would also be very useful for undead hordes.

The undead still have gender, though they do not reproduce. Instead they curse/plague/infection just spreads.

You could abstract this by having a single gender undead civilization that can reproduce asexually just to simulate the ever growing zombies hordes.

Also it gives your axedwarves something to practice on.

Why did you make a seperate thread for this when you've already suggested it?   Or, rather, why did you make a thread for all your suggestions if you're going to make seperate threads for them?

Capntastic: If you'll read the original thread, you'll find that DarthCloakedDwarf intended to just make a single thread, until it was pointed out that the title was ambiguous, and that having so many widely different ideas in a single thread, was rather confusing.

So you can blame me for that, not the OP.

I'm sorry, what's a HFS?

Ohhhhhhh.

Wait... is it the Easter egg sort of fun, or the "you're all going to die" sort of fun?

So now there's four threads about things that have already been suggested and mentioned in devnotes (I believe even the 'lisping' bit was mentioned by Toady as being customizable via raws) instead of one.

I'm not trolling.   You should've at least attempted a search before posting all these threads.

You are starting to troll, actually. You, for your part, should have read the original thread in it's entirety, up to the point where splitting it up was talked about, and the reasons for it, before coming here to complain. It's not like it's terribly long.

You didn't, obviously, and now you're just disrupting the discussion.
