I'll be honest, I only read half the novel.

I thought vampires were symbolic of lust and sin in general...

Somewhat I would suppose. Remember that they were a creation of myth and folklore so talking about their meaning descends heavily into psychology. The act of taking life to sustain oneself is basically just predation, so you could see Vampires as being the predator above humans, the wolf to our rabbit. Vampires are also mixed heavily with religion and it could be said that vampires are basically the antithesis of life as we know it, the dead feeding upon the living rather then the living on the dead.  The symbolism of Lust came in mostly through the Novel and it's love story. Dracula marked a point in the vampire mythology where the vampire ceased to be mere monster and took on human traits and emotions. Before this the vampire was basically like the werewolf, a monster connected to humanity but possessing pretty much purely animal instincts and actions.

As Joshua said the act of biting, especially of a young woman, could be seen as symbolic of rape and defloweration as well as the loss of innocence. In this way the vampire becomes seen less as a monster and more of the personification of adulthood and the various lusts and sins that it brings. The reason I like hellsing so much is that it manages to have these sames sorts of elements, the idea of blending sex and death, without weighing itself down with philosophy or pretentiousness. Also it's pretty damn cool.

Anime without anime tropes isn't anime. Just like a movie, no matter how good, has movie tropes. It's inevitable. I think it avoids most of the terrible ones though, like filler sagas and lazy animation.

I don't think it's possible to make anything without it mirroring or resembling a trope of some kind. Pointing out it has tropes is kind of a moot point, in that regard.

Why? I can see not liking most anime but there are some generally good and even great anime.

Because anime is uncool and he is obviously too cool to watch something uncool.

Such a great, unfathable being as Cthulhu does not care about such human concepts as cool or not cool.

Meh, cthulhu isn't even an outer god, just an old one. Now Azathoth, there is an unfathomable being.

Any info on this mysterious and extremely bad sounding movie?

Also, I have no idea how to pronounce Cthulhu.  I normally just say "Cuh-Foo-Loo" when I need to (which is staggeringly rarely).
