Unvote. No Lynch. AN, what are your thoughts on the daykill?
I originally assumed it was a town role who did the killing -- if you have a chance to daykill someone (with zero chance of being blocked), you generally take out the 'best' town player. Why would scum target ExKirby? — There's no reason to. Unless of course, the person with the kill
is the 'best' town player.
Think of it like this: There are 5 players in a generic mafia game. 1 of these players is phenomenal, an absolutely terrifying adversary to go against if he's town. Another one of them is still leagues ahead of everyone else, but not quite as good.
The remaining three are 'novices'.
Let's assume you're one of the novices, and you're also a serial-killer with a daykill. Given that it's D1, there is no chance that your target will be protected, nor that you will be blocked. Obviously you would target the best town player.
Now, what if you
were the 'best' town player, and you're a serial-killer with a daykill? Who would you target then?
Targeting the second-best makes no sense as that immediately puts suspicion on you. "Why'd the SK choose <second-best player> over <best player>?! <Best player> must be scum!" This is a terrible move, as the only defense is "Scum's trying to frame me!" and that rarely goes well.
No, the only target you can choose without attracting suspicion is a novice. One who poses no threat to you... unless you're trying to WIFOM everyone.
To be honest, I've changed my mind. I don't think a town vig was responsible for the death of ExKirby: I think it was a serial-killer. Furthermore, I think it was either one of our best players, or a player who misjudged ExKirby's skill level.
I believe this sounds reasonable, yes?
There's another possibility which is becoming increasingly likely, though -- ExKirby committed suicide as part of his role (or he pretended to, ala Ken Kesey). So,
ExKirby. What say you to that?
