Dedication
« on: December 12, 2009, 01:21:24 pm »

Holy crap!  I just read that Tarn Adams has a pHD in some math major, and that Zach Adams has a degree in Ancient History.  For anybody with as much talent as these guys seem to have to work individually is huge enough.  But if these guys have got that much education they could be making like *pause* a kazillion dollars a year.  Their dedication to this game is mindnumbing.....

I appologize for being late to the party/ reading BS

You are later than a pregnant woman. Yeah, Toady once was a professor sort of thing. He gave it up for his dreams and because Armok demands blood.

By Armok he means fans and by blood he means unreasonable deadlines.

One day, we shall all look back on this, and laugh. Sorry about the face, by the way, and the legs, and the eyes, and the arms. In fact, sorry 'bout the whole body.

Pregnant women eh?  Anyways, what do you mean by was a proffesor sort of thing?  I find it inconcievable that he works on DF instead of taking up his $73,853/year job.

What do you think the donations are for?

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.

He wasn't necessarily a tenured professor or whatever; depending on how long he'd been teaching he may well have  been at the lowest level of professordom. You have to work your way up over ridiculously long periods since there's always less positions than there are people wanting them.

Given the numbers...

November Donations:  $5122.29
October Donations:   $1759.27
September Donations: $2138.21
August Donations:    $2510.86
July Donations:      $2202.37

He's certainly getting plenty of income from his pet project/hobby/whatever-other-term-for-this-sort-of-thing.
Even if you take the low average of $2000, that's still enough to live on...

He actually found his living expensives so low, he saved money. He occasionally mentions when donations are low that he could go for a while if they stopped. But Yes, That is exactly what happened.
