SCENE: Earth. Imperial Palace. Emperor Solomon Petresun addresses his court:
Gentlemen, ladies, our instruments have detected an enormous deposit of ununoctium on the southern hemisphere of ④Vesta. It shouldn't be there. Our science advisors tell us that either there was an unknown recent event that formed it, or an ongoing unknown process that preserves it.
We must have it.
Deciphering the event or the process involved would greatly expand our understanding of the physics involved, which will inevitably improve our technology, and the ununoctonium itself will be greatly useful to our industry.
You will work to launch a scientific expedition to ④Vesta at once, to investigate, harvest, control, and report. Make sure they are safe of infection from any Cybrid glitches on launch or transit, and most of all, ensure that they don't end up marooned off that damned rock.Heh. Short version: I helped mod a game recently, and I liked it. I couldn't help but realise it has been a very long time since I tried to host a game (my
one and only game ended with a
TPK due to lurking. I
dislike lurkers). Also, it's now a month since
GlyphGryph decided to search greener pastures elsewhere (and we miss him dearly). Given I'm the
bloody Emperor, mate (basically,
I rule), and that GG was cool with people running games with his open setup, and we don't have many games in signups, I'd perhaps like to try to do that again. I propose to run
Cybrid Mafia VI - Marooned Off Vesta.
If anyone objects, please say so. Otherwise I'll put it up for signups once one of the two larger games going on (RL5, P21) starts to wind down, in a week or two.
Assuming it goes ahead, it will be a standard
Cybrid open setup: Imperials, Rebels, a Cybrid glitch or two, some Officers, no survivors, no emperors, no double agents, no real surprises. I'd like the setup itself to be as predictable as possible, with the fun coming from the players and the flavour. I'll clean up and re-post the rules/roles when the time comes.
Let me know of interest, ideas, objections, predictions of doom, or anything else.
