Unity 3D has decided that $200 was not cheap enough for their pretty damn cool 3D development kit for multiple platforms, and today rebranded their Indie package to just Unity, making the set free. They're a pretty damn good engine that can run games out of a browser even in full glorious 3D, and they have some really impressive features (their graphics demos look almost as good as some modern shooters of the past decade). Considering it's a couple of years old by now, I'd say Unity was just made for the sake of Unity.

But anyway, Unity is a fantastic piece of sex. I'd recommend it to anyone out there - in fact, I'm installing the Indie version right now.
