Who makes buildings out of Glass Blocks?
« on: October 26, 2009, 07:27:17 pm »

Rather simple question. I plan on making a large above-ground fort out of mostly green glass, metal and *gasp* wood. The first several layers down are dirt, and though there is rock beneath that I don't plan on using it except as a source for ore, gems and magma. What I'm wondering is if I will need a Mason. I know smiths make metal walls and floors, is it the same for glassmakers? Or do masons use glass blocks?

A bit of quick experimentation suggests that glass block walls are constructed by masons.

^Confirmed. Keep in mind that they do not gain any experience.

Good luck with your fort, you doing the desert challenge?

AFAIK, the level of mason skill doesn't impact how fast they install the blocks .  So, get all your haulers some time on the exerpumps so they become super agile, and then give them the masonry labor, and all should be fine.

Also, you can manufacture vomit at a smelter.  Subsequently removing the smelter spews vomit over a surprising area.
