strange embark options

I think I did something wrong in the entity raw. I was creating a new race of creatures for some fun, but the only weapons they can embark with are wooden, same for armor. although picks and crossbows still come in metal form, even though bolts don't.

That would be WOOD_PREF.

EDIT: The actual purpose of the PREF tags is not really understood, despite the info on the wiki. WOOD_PREF cause items that would normally be metal to be wood. METAL_PREF is suspected to enable steel working. STONE and GEM are unknown.

The thing is, fortress mode creatures still have preferences without the tags.

ok, so the embarks seem to be good now. :D thanks.

ran into another problem. when I embarked the seven ijixi I started with were all blinking yellow crosses as if they were wounded.

That would be WOOD_PREF.

The stone and gem prefs enable the entity to embark and bring to trade either gems or stone/stone blocks.

Also, it allows them, during worldgen, to create such crafts like *<<+Demantoid bracelet+>>* or -<<*Obsidian earring*>>- (Gem/Stone) to be promptly stolen and took to the thieves' cave.

20 such objects lying in the grass - and your adventurer can buy almost everything.
