In the city of Misplace Optimism on the barren moon of Titan, life is shit, and everyone wants off. You're at least one step better off than most of the sad sacks slaving away on this rock, because you've got yourself a Moth (a sort of flying car/tank/hovercraft). That means you can trade, you can fight, you can work, and you can save. But it doesn't mean life is going to be easy. In Misplaced Optimism, nothing is ever easy.
First, there's the pirates. Can't barely step outside before you run into someone who's decided your stuff would look a lot nicer in their hold. Fortunately, the security forces provide a little protection in the city proper - unfortunately, the tunnels that connect the different districts are pretty much unpatrolled. Of course, you make a wrong move, insult the wrong person, your gonna wind up on the shit list of those same security firms - remember that the corps aren't working for you, they're working for themselves. If you get in the way, you become a target.
So what are you going to do? Scavenge the wrecks of the corp conflicts? Scavenge the unwitting dupes YOU wreck? Work for the strained and corrupt police forces that provide some semblance of stability in this hellhole? Try to work your way up trading commodities, or get a job with one of the corps? Maybe you'll save up some cash and open your own hangar. Maybe you'll do it all, and more. Whatever you do, your goal is simple - get out of here. It wont be cheap. It wont be easy. But if your smart, and careful, and lucky, you just might make it.
Ok, that was fun, now technical stuff-
1-8 players per world at any given time.
Overall plot you can discover pieces to as you play. (I never actually paid much attention to this)
Lots of different factions and rivals to side with or work against.
Lots of different Moths and equipment.
Buy hangars to store extra ships and equipment.
Overall SUPER FUN game. You should all play.
