Well, all that means is that it's just one museum that is terrible rather than whatever branch of Sweden's government oversees its museums.
The artefacts should have been left where they were or sold/given away, not fucking destroyed - no matter how small their significance.

Diogenes syndrome is quite an insult to Diogenes of Sinope, father of all cynics. Diogenes wasn't senile, nor a hoarder.

Being old doesn't immediatedly make it valuable

Being part of history should make it valuable to those whose history that is.

As 1.999... is equal to 2, past is equal to present.

Except the present.

The present is part of history as it was gifted to us by the past

The present is a stage on which new is made from old. History influences and informs the present, but does not make it.

But 1.99.... is still not two.

yes it is.

1.9999... = 1 + 9/10 + 9/100 + 9/1000 + ... =1 + lim(n->infinity) sum from 1 to n of 9/(10n) = 1 + (9/10)/(1-1/10) = 1 + 1 = 2.

Not that the past equals the present; the present is specifically excluded from being part of the past or the future.

But 1.99.... is still not two.
If the 9 is repeating, it is.  Because maths.
1/3 = 0.333...
Multiply both sides by 3
3/3 = 0.999...
1 = 0.999...

But I thought you would know that so maybe I'm missing something related to you dropping the third 9.  IDK, I didn't sleep last night.  Property management needed to do yet.  another.  walk-around, this morning.  At 9:30, supposedly.  "should take no longer than a few minutes".  Since I was up till 6AM working anyway, I decided to wait up.

No sign yet, unless you count workers using hammers and power tools on the exterior since 10.  It's noon.  I'm really not mad, just so tired of this.  And even once this *actually finally ends*, I'm moving anyway!!  nuhhhh.

Nah, I'm actually just horrendous at maths.

Regardless, conceptually speaking, the idea of something which is nearly two is not in itself two.
