I'd say it's more like a caffeine addiction than a hard drugs addiction - you just kind of find yourself drifting towards it, it's not like there are serious withdrawals. Some time ~beginning of last December I stopped cutting completely. No desire to since. Mainly because I was using it to un-screw my mental state and I got medication then. :v

The only thing self-harm has in common with drinking is that both can kill you.  I don't want that.  For anybody.

Nah, both make you feel good for a while. Long term both suck though, except that instead of waking up with a hangover you wake up with painful injuries that no longer seem like they were a good idea. Also you can get scarring or accidentally permanently injure yourself.

I'm really urged to start cutting again too... but the scars would make me look ugly.

's a good reason not to cut. The scars do look ugly, especially if you end up with a long-term problem with it.

Well time for some Thanks Obama!

BFEL is losing 100 bucks of social security because deadbeat dad also had social security that social security decided I needed to have some of, whether I wanted to or not. So lo and behold they decide that is extra income, switch around my health insurance stuff and give me a net loss of 100 bucks in social security, as well as more annoying health insurance.

You are joking, right?

Obama is not directly responsible for everything that's going on...

Let's no one hurt themselves, okay? We can all seek help in other ways.

My sad: I fell over while tending the chickens, smashing my face through a section of chickenwire and cutting it all up to hell. It looks like someone drew a grid in red.

Bit more pissed off at this than anything.

I remembered to stick something on a USB for my friend since I'm going to his house tomorrow. Given the past two times I went round I forgot, it is something of a miracle that I remembered.

Except the USB sticks are fucking NOWHERE to be found. I remember my mum going on about how many we had a couple months back, and mentioned where she was keeping them, but I forgot. And, of course, tonight she went to bed early so I can hardly ask.

They're not in either of the 'miscellaneous crap' drawers, they're not in any of the electronics drawers, they're not in any of the other drawers in that sideboard. They're sure as hell not going to be in the kitchen, not in my room, not in my brother's room.

Only place left is her room, which I doubt, and even if that is the case I can't get in there.

It's as if the fucking things have just up and vanished.

Since you have checked all the reasonable places they could be, you may need to check the unreasonable places. Have you checked the fridge or bathroom?

You're right that it's not like a cocaine addiction, but you do become physically dependent on caffeine. Heh. I would know. I quit 2 energy drinks a day cold turkey and spent the next week in misery. I allowed myself some black tea but all that did was take the edge off of it.

...Either way, I'm just being a little pedantic here. Cutting's bad, but it's a symptom of other, more serious causes. If you want to stop cutting, there's other ways to get the endorphin rush you're experiencing when you do it. I heard, earlier, working out. Running yourself ragged will do it too.

What's bad about that?
First of all, beginning of WW2 happened 77 years ago.
Second - end of summer holidays in Poland, which means dealing with my class "friends" again. That's bad. Very fucking bad.

I really fucking hate how people's definition of Alpha Male is essentially little-man syndrome for tall people and people see it as a good thing. It's not a good thing, it's just grown-ass men acting like high school jocks acting like overly-masculine douchebags trying to flaunt their Big Scary Muscles in people's faces because it makes them feel manly or something. The term "Alpha male" is supposed to refer to someone with charisma or leadership or authority or whatever, but instead people think it's just a guy who acts like an obnoxious insecure manbaby with a napoleon complex which is apparently the ideal male personality.
