I don't know, I'd consider booze, live music, and comics wastes of money. :P

Well, if you had a ton of money, maybe not comics. And maybe not live music if you didn't mind damaging your hearing.
Uh. That's good to know. Thanks for the input.  ::)

Id say that disposable income spent on making life fun, is disposable income well spent.

Think if it this way, when one day your in your death bed, would you regret having spent time and money on things that made life fun?

An mp3 player would be more economical than live music though, unless he's going with a friend or the band puts on an inpressive show like GWAR or Rob Zombie.

It's been happening for decades and the fundamental problems with it still haven't been solved.  ;)

The assumption is that any damage done due to death (can't harvest until declared dead), or freezing, or chemical reactions from the chemicals used, or the lack of a body, will all be solved in the future, at which point you will be revived, and somehow will actually be able to understand the future society you're in and will have job prospects.

They could work in a history museum like the preserved heads on Futurama

I would rather not be a preserved head in a history museum

(unless I get to muck around on a computer on my time off, that'd be kinda neat)

Technically you always wake up in the future.

No, I wake up in the present.
If a wizard transported you to 2116, you'd still wake up in the present?

...yeah, I think that's actually how it works. Time travel is a nonsensical idea.

E: uh, sorry, nevermind. I forgot that people don't like offtopic blather in between the sads.

The point is that any person is going to say they're in the present.

Communicators, PADDs, and bridge consoles, only without the stick of dynamite every captain randomly puts in consoles to blow up during a fight. (Why do you think captains don't have consoles, only tiny armrest displays?)
