My nan's been insufferable the past few days.

Leading up to the move she was going on about how great it is that we were leaving and all that. Then when we do move she starts yelling at my mom about how she made a horrendous mistake; that she should have stayed with her boyfriend, and telling her every negative thing she can think of about the move. Reduced her to tears yesterday.

She's also saying that my mom should be looking for a man, because women need men to take care of them. My mom has made it clear that after her last few relationships, she doesn't want to be with anybody for some time.

Finally, she screamed at mom today because I wasn't using that lamp she brought over yesterday. Apparently I should use it because it prevents depression. After all, all depression is caused by a lack of sunlight.

It's a pretty standard treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder. But that's the only one. I take D supplements myself, seems to do the trick enough. People will generally try to diagnose you with the thing they know how to cure.

Well, I was told to "spend time with friends" and "be more social", which would somehow cure my depression? I guess it helps temporarily, but it is hardly a cure... And my parents took it to mean take away my computer and leave me home alone all day every day.

It must be nice to have friends to talk to/spend time with outside of school. :(
Also to sleep. I mean, I got an hour and a half today... 3:30 to 6:00. I went to bed at nine, and lay in bed because my dad turned off the internet to help me sleep.

"Pah, why consult a doctor? We didn't have internet OR depression back in my day, so that's obviously the problem".

"Pah, why consult a doctor? We didn't have internet OR depression back in my day, so that's obviously the problem".
I did consult a doctor... And two therapists...
And they told my parents to let up with the demands of perfection and let me do what I want more. So more screaming when I don't do exactly what they say, and forcing me into different sleep habits.
"Doctors! Therapists! Those people are crazy, why should I listen to them?"

Also, my girlfriend's mom won't let her go on dates with me if there are fewer than two other couples there with us. So considering I have no friends, and all of her friends are single, it makes it a bit difficult to go out.
Why can't people be sane? She ships her daughter with another boy who is in Argentina for another year, and so makes it stupidly difficult for me to even talk with my girlfriend. The two of them don't even like each other, and haven't talked for years!

Remember, it's not racist if you add a disclaimer that you're not a racist.

To be fair, "racism" doesn't actually mean "treating another person differently solely because of their race/ethnicity", it means "white people mentioning differences between races/ethnicities/cultures".

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Kal... :'(
If that's exactly what your parents are saying, then seek aid or talk to them directly about their screaming.
That never helps anything.
Also keep on visiting those doctors/therapists and ask them how you could cope with your parents, as an extended case.

If the statement was 'That's gay', then you're taking it out of context and you know this.

In other news: The Pirate Bay got raided again.
This time Bigtime.
