It's contagious, I think.

Unfortunantly, even Descan's science can't cure it.

You just have to develop immunities.

Not religious myself, but I respect the help that other people can find in it.

Not gonna lie Cryxis, it's going to hurt bad for a while, but try to remember the good times you had together, and hold on to those good memories.

I remember him another friend and I were sitting around a campfire at around midnight and we were talking about the recent blood moon and how it's one of the signs of the rapture
And he says, " I'm not saying that I don't want to be around for the rapture but I don't want it to happen now. I want to grow up, I want to get married, I want children, I want grow old."

Now I think back to that and think of all the dreams and moments that were destroyed in that instant he was hit. It brings tears to my eyes. And to be honest I think he would have lived an amazing and successful life, he was a great person full of personality. I only wish I got to spend more time with him and I think from this day forth I will try to get to know my friends better because I didn't get to know him well l, but he was my friend.

He was so funny he always made me laugh and he always had a story to tell.

Now he's gone

I hope I never forget him

In the morning?? WTH...that's the sort of stupid shit you usually see at night.

Cousin of mine (first girl I ever had a crush on, actually) was killed by a drunk driver in her teens.  :(

And no worries on the religion thing. I was raised Lutheran, before converting away around 18. I'm just not real comfortable with that standard formulation of "Well, at least they died a Christian." I know it's a source of comfort to believers. But to others....not so much.

Ya it is very comforting to Christians, because I know I will see him again
I could care less if other people don't beleive that as long as they don't try to force it down my throat that my beliefs are wrong

Yeah, the important thing here is that you've got the strength to keep moving and take to heart what you've learned from him and stuff. Keep the memory alive and all that.

That, and

Just found out that the car that hit him the driver was street racing while under the influence

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I realized today that while things may appear to be getting better at work, as soon as the Corporate Trainers leave everything will go back to the way it was, and while they are here they are working us to the bone. I can't win.
If that isn't depressing, I don't....

I'm getting bored. Which means I'm losing motivation. Which means I'm losing productivity. Which makes me sad. Which doesn't help the whole motivation thing.

Also I'm probably developing a crush on girl-who-draws-stuff-and-is-super-friendly-and-lives-in-the-dorm-across-the-hall (totally her official name). I don't need another source of emotions like that. Quit it brain. Stop wanting to constantly see her. Stop thinking about her. Stop wanting to go hang out and talk with her. Stop getting jealous of her hanging out with other guys. Stop getting anxious that she might date other guys. Stop wondering if she already has a boyfriend. Stop being creepy and possessive of a person you barely know.

Uuuuuugh. Emotions and angst and drama and venting and wheeeee.

You realize this is how most relationships START, right? Person A thinks Person B is pretty awesome? See, the next step is Person A has to TELL Person B that.

That's how I got my girl friend

Me: hi
Her: hi
Me: do you want to go to the military ball with me (said nervously)
Her: oh my god yes!!!

After that we had an hour long conversation on how we had been crushing on each other for months and not even knowing it

I feel like I can relate, sort of. I've known females that I simply lack the balls to approach. One of which was a best-friend.

Damn you, missed opportunities. Damn you to hell.

My point is, better to have loved and been rejected than to have never loved at all. Because then you get that awful, horrible black hole of WHAT IF.

Update on the whole ******* that killed my friend
He had a passenger in his car
The car filled after hitting him and now the driver and passenger are in intensive care
The driver is charged with vehicular manslaughter along with other counts and the other two racers were charged as accessories to the vehicular manslaughter
I hope the driver lives through intensive care also he will most likely get life in jail if he does
