I seem to have developed an addiction to pop tarts. Oh boy.
You should try rolling your own. I'm planning to do so myself this week. :3

You know, I've never had a pop tart. They're some kind of microwavable pastry, aren't they?

From what I hear they're basically toaster crack.

Yes. Just watch out for those typos of the cook time on the box (NSFW language).

Also, they taste better if you use a toaster.

People microwave their poptarts?

I just eat them straight out of the box.

E: And I don't think that cook time is all that off. They are a bit like pizza pops, in that the outside is cold but the center is very hot. My sister once put one in the microwave for only ten seconds and it burnt her tongue.

I only ever had strawberry or chocolate ones.

I couldn't eat the strawberry ones toasted, and I couldn't eat the chocolate ones 'raw'.

I was a strange child.

I can only really microwave something if it needs to be boiled, and even then I use much more water than the packaging suggests.

Food dried out in the microwave is vile...

Poptarts are for toasting. I guess heathens that don't have a toaster have to resort to baser actions.

They have no choice, in their desperation. We can but pity them and leave them to their squabbles among the toasterless dust.

@ Nuke dried food: Two of my favorite meat textures seem to be only producible via microwave. There's this state certain sausage patties reach where they're just on the cusp of being charcoal that is somehow incredibly addicting. Similarly, chicken brought to a similar state becomes almost akin to jerky and I love it so. And the chicken also becomes, like, incredibly dry and then you put sauces on it and it soaks and personally I find it glorious.

Toasting poptarts is indeed weird. What you're supposed to do is dip 'em in pancake batter and fry 'em. It's a Midwestern delicacy.

You can, I guess...

... but seriously, the cribblyhumping things were designed for toasters. It's why they're called poptarts. The generic term is literally toaster pastry. The shape's pretty specifically made for toasters. Rectangular things of larger or smaller size are just pastries.

This is true.

Also I like using a microwave to soften bread rolls and achieve a specific surface texture. You moisten the roll, cover with damp paper towel, nuke for a couple seconds. You get dat chewy chew bread, son. Such magnificent. Also works with humbao, potstickers, etc.

cribblyhumping.

Wat.
It's a word without much in the way of meaning.

A word I'm apparently the only person on the internet to have ever used, which is freaking mindboggling.

... also, apologies for contributing to the derail, sad thread. I'm operating on entirely too little sleep.
