Post new years depression I think. I've just been feeling mehhhhh for the past two weeks, and so far the only two things that have went according to plan is that I stopped smoking and playing WoT. And I'm comming close to slipping every day. I think that's most of the cause of the mehness, that I can get myself to struggle with two somewhat hard things and have almost nothing left for anything else. I've been here for a week now and I still haven't talked to the landlady about fixing up my papers so I can find a job. To say nothing of art related goals, the best I've done is a freaking crab insect mutant thing :C

Huh, turns out this shit about acknowledging and working through deep-seated emotional problems is hard. Who knew.

Dutchling's magic helped me once, so perhaps it can help me again: I'm looking for an image. The image is of a giant Vivec being ridden by the Nerevarine, rampaging through a large number of guards trying to stop them (the context of this being what happened when Vivec knocks the Nerevarine out to teach him/her how to use Wraithguard).

FTFY. It's Mathematics, after all.
When the new students arrived this semester, our Fachschaft organized an evening of drinking and games. We were about to start a game of Werwolf (Mafia by a different name), when a higher semester student came in and gave an improvised ten-minute speech on why it is vital for mathematicians to drink.
He's now the top candidate of the conservative bloc in the student's parliament.

I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

That makes me raeg because I've been in a scenario almost identical to that one before. Still haven't figured out how to get out of it, though.
I feel for you, though.

Once you leave, you can get into an engineering course.

Once you get into an engineering course, you can specialize in mechanical engineering.

Once you specialize in mechanical engineering, you can create a super-tank.

Once you create a super-tank, you can drive it over anyone who ever wronged you while laughing maniacally.

But only if you get good grades.

Alternatively, start telling people to piss off. Yeah, it makes you rude and surly, but it solves the problem of people bothering you. Dad wants you to exercise? Piss off, Dad, Mom wanted me to do all this extra homework. Mom wants you to do extra homework? Piss off, Mom, Dad wants me to exercise. Friends act like asses to you? Piss off, friends, I'll go hang with people who actually like me. People in general being dumbasses? Piss off, people, I'll go chill by myself. World got you down? Piss off, world, I do what I want.

I just tend to deal with toxic and intrusive people by staying away from them if I can, and out-willing them if I can't. Most people of those stripes are fairly easily out-willed or just plain intimidated by any meaningful resistance.

I just took it. Whatever abuse they hurled at me, I tanked. They eventually stopped, but it sure as hell wasn't healthy for me. Now I really have to work at giving any shits about anything. My Grandma died, and I just went "So?". That isn't healthy, and no shrink is ever gonna help me with this.

That's good old apathy, for you.

I'm sad because my 'new replies' is completely dry. The ones at the bottom of page 1? Last posts in: 2012. Mayhap I should lurk less.
