Encountered another 'WHITE PEOPLE ARE HAVING GENOCIDE PERFORMED ON THEM!' people.
Don't really get that argument. Cultural dissolution/dilution? Perhaps. Genocide? Not a chance in hell.
BUT WHITE PEOPLE HAVE TO LIVE WITH OTHER PEOPLE! IT'S GENOCIDE!
AND SINCE THEY'RE WITH US THEY ALSO MUST BE VICTIMS!
WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN WHITE CLOTHES GET DIRTY?! THIS IS LIKE, EXACTLY WHAT'S HAPPENING! WE'LL HAVE STAINS ON OUR SKIN FOREVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER!
That is so ridiculous yet concise and evocative an argument I'd be surprised if some racist hasn't used it for real.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Nope.

I grew up in Utah with almost 0 racial tensions. I've been in South Carolina for a year but seem to have been mostly insulated from the particularly egregious racists.

Sadly, the national socialist party of germany was a LOT like our GOP, or DNC-- more than just an ideology, it was also a widely endorsed political affiliation.  More than just the main cabinet members tried at Nurembourg were members of that party.

Where do you suppose they went when the reich failed?

Many were disgusted with the idea of ever having been a member-- others went underground, further hardened in the ideology.

It is entirely possible vector is NOT exagerating. (I've met a few people who were former nazis. "Enlightening".. not in a warm fuzzy way either. /godwin)

These days there are some issues with Hispanics. My parents in particular have said some pretty racist things in regards to them.

Prior to that there wasn't much, unless you count Utahns generally agreeing with segregation and other conservative ideologies back in the day, despite it not actually affecting the people living there much.

They're almost universally referred to as "Mexicans" when I really doubt all of them are from Mexico.

I heard someone say she didn't like being called a Mexican because it was offensive.
The person she was talking to then asked "but aren't you from Mexico?"
"Well, yeah."
"Then how is that offensive?"
I don't remember how's he responded but I think it was something about how people tend to use the word. The thing is, if someone wanted to use a racial slur to describe someone of Latino origin, there are plenty they could use. "Mexican" just usually comes from either the person being from Mexico or just general ignorance.

No?  She was in the Hitler Youth and had American planes shooting at her while she was working in the fields and everything.

Did you think they all poofed after WWII or something?  Some of them married nice Lutheran ministers >_>

I was a Lutheran once. It was pretty awful, but thankfully none of them were literally Nazis (as far as I am aware).

I think he's wondering if she's actually followed/believed the Nazi Ideology, not simply just someone who lived during the Nazi regime.

She's certainly really, really into straight blond hair and blue eyes.  And won't go into grocery stores that seem to have Jewish names on them.
