Just started grad school and it's impossible to do anything with anyone except stoner/younger friends, because they're always down and lounging about.

Indeed, it's often spontaneous scheduling among my friends, aside from things we do regularly - and punctuality has led to a lot of arguments. For myself, I try not to make promises I can't keep, and try to assign priority chronologically unless something tremendously important happens. I hate breaking agreements, so if I've made one it tends to take something like cat being on fire or a family member in the hospital suddenly (with a bleak outlook). Which, honestly, is a problem since it ends up with me turning down people who are ostensibly more important like close family, or who are doing something important like moving, to do things like play D&D or something. I think it tends to make people feel, probably pretty justly, marginalized.

Anyway, rambling aside, *gives Vector a hug*. Incidentally, I'm about to go post in the Happy thread about something that is a reasonably direct result of your actions, so hopefully that is of help in providing cheer. LIVE VICARIOUSLY THROUGH MY PLEASURE, DAMMIT.

I'm pretty flaky, but I really, really try to give people 24-hours' notice if I'm not going to be able to do something.  As for lateness, I usually get there early.  I like to be there on time, so I don't have to apologize, and for things like dinner it's really important to eat the food just as it becomes time to eat.

On the other hand, I just thought about the idea of putting olive oil that's had garlic and peanuts fried in it (and then possibly removed) over the noodles to keep them from sticking, instead of just the oil... hm.  That could be delicious.

[Also hugs], I've had lots of problems with  similar events and people not showing up actually. I would've happily come over for tea and bring something dear.

In other news, I'm more and more convinced there is no winning this case, I've tried 23 different legal theories and hunted through hundreds thousands of pages. At least I can say in excruciating detail why none of them will work.... Also I've spent about 5 hours a night for four nights researching this, getting paid nothing for it ($0), and I'm certain the people I can't help will tell me, even after I present them pages of why they screwed up and should've called long ago/gotten it in writing it won't work, "you didn't do anything for us...."

My abdominal muscles really hurt.
I must have sat in a very wrong position for a long time earlier. My upper abdominal half has a strong, persistent ache. I took a dose of pain medication earlier, when it was highly difficult to stand up straight, but it didn't help much at all. This is really unpleasant.

My friends also couldn't do anything this weekend either. That's, I think, 3 or 4 weeks in a row. This time, one was doing an all-day event of some sort with his school's band; he offered to come over at midnight, but that wasn't going to work. Next weekend, I can only hope. I'm really wanting to test out this Bioshock RPG of mine. (That would make 4 different RPG we'd be playing at once!)

Oh, and Green Lantern sucked. I was really expecting something better, given the quality of the other recent Marvel comic-book-movies. I just found that Green Lantern is DC, not Marvel. That makes a bit more sense. I also found that Marvel is now owned by Disney, and has been for a couple of years, which makes me sad.

It's actually not that bad. Disney just lends Marvel's staff their technological resources and in exchange takes a cut of their profits. The actual creative methodology remains firmly in Marvel's hands, which is probably how Disney prefers it anyway. Not unlike their arrangement with Pixar, really.

I'm not worried that Disney will do something bad with it. I just feel bad when I see how large and successful Disney is, while the quality of their work is exponentially declining. I'm just glad I grew up when Disney still presented good role models. Have you seen any of the recent shows on the Disney Channel? It's really bad; I suppose that's what you get, when you showcase America's pre-teens of today.

According to Wikipedia, Marvel Entertainment is an LLC of Disney, which (if I understand) means like you said - it's part of the company, but it does its own work.

Iron Man 2 was not a good film, compared to the others. I just felt bad after watching it; it felt corrupted, somehow. I'm really glad they didn't repeat that in the others. It's all too easy to screw up something otherwise awesome.

Speaking of movies, had The Proposal in the background as I worked on schoolwork. It's a silly little romcom. Then a channel change later it was the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

That added onto my recent mood, I just want to crawl into a hole and die.

That's a spam post.

What makes this spam post different from the other ones?

I wrote this one. I wrote it and then emailed it to my boss, who presumably rubbed his hands together and cackled, knowing that every time I sent him something meant he could feed it to some new spambot.

I'm torn right now because my horrible part time job is earning me money, which is nice to have, but on the other hand I'm enabling the spammer culture. This is the first time I've ever seen something I've written for "search engine optimization" show up anywhere I frequent.
