A few which stood out to me.

Quote
One cup of hot tea (from tea bags) and six chocolate chip cookies
Quote
Same meal that is served to all other offenders in the main dining room
Quote
Chocolate birthday cake with "2/23/90" written on top, seven pink candles
Quote
Justice, Equality, World Peace (Yes, he requested that for his final meal
Quote
one pack of Palmar cigarettes (prohibited by TDCJ regulations) one lighter (prohibited by TDCJ regulations)
Quote
Declined last meal
Quote
Asked that final meal be provided to a homeless person
Quote
Steak, french fries and wine (Against policy, water was substituted)
Quote
Yogurt

That list was longer than I expected, but fancy some of that stuff.

Apparently cigarettes, lighters, alcohol,  bubblegum, and some other stuff can't be included in your last meal.

Yeah.  That one really got me in the gut.  I was reading through, going "okay, that's a lot of food... lots and lots of food... oh goodness I feel sick now."

It's amazing what you can learn about people from what they want to eat, and how much sympathy a list of food can bring.

This actually made me feel a bit better. Clearly the bloke reformed/thought about life a bit while in jail. At least enough to not be thinking selfishly during his last moments.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

It just made me sadder, actually, because despite the person reforming... we still killed him.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me sad for a long time.

Man, I simply can't imagine being one of those guys, knowing that death is around the corner...

Yeah. If I could tell a man by his food, I'd have wanted to save a lot of them.

I'm guessing that was a birthday cake for his daughter or something.
And that hits me hard, really.

And the fact they wouldn't give the man a glass of wine to have with his steak and chips- That kinda makes me sad too.

I wonder why they won't let the guy have his wine.

I mean, he's gonna be dead soon, why not give him what he wants (aside from... not dying)

I guess the rule against alcohol is so they can't drink themselves into a stupor.

But I don't know about cigarettes, and especially bubblegum.

Prisons make up whatever rules they want, basically.
