It's not the NIH. It's Judge Lamberth's damn injunction. The NIH supports ESC research

Yes, I'd noticed. I'm just wondering about their blind adherence to the law.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't.

So a gay friend posted on my Facebook status about Macs.  Other people posted about Macs and PCs.  Then an atheist friend of mine made a post involving the word fag (he didn't know my other friend was gay).

My gay friend deleted his posts and "de-friended" me  :-\

There's something to say about not taking responsibility for other people's ignorance.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

I'm saying you should politely explain the situation to him, and if he doesn't understand, then don't go out of your way to try to remain friends with him. Most of all, don't fret over it.

Well, there goes my paragraph chewing Joshua out for blaming Elud for the actions of someone else reacting to yet another person alltogether. But yes, emotional overeactions are qualites best avoided in friends.

So that way if it's like, really ugly, you can still... uh... donate it to science.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Ahh I see.  I was gone all day when the post was made, I wonder if he thought I approved of it.  In truth I only had time to glance at it in the morning, then spent all day wondering what to do.  I sent my gay friend a message... hopefully he does understand.  He's just one gay friend of two gay friends I have, and I really don't want to lose him :/

Yeah, you might have a shortage of gay friends then. A deficit, if you will. Oh whatever shall you do?

So my friend responded with the good 'ol Assryian proverb: “Tell me your friends, and I’ll tell you who you are.”  I need to think of an appropriate response.

I'm not sure if I can explain why having gay friends is important to me.  I'm a Christian, so I don't approve of their sexual desires, but on the other hand, I'm supposed to love themgays anyway.  I want to find the happy medium between the pro-gays and the gay haters.  Yes I am crazy >_>

edit: appropriate, heart-felt response sent.  I hope he will understand  :'(

It's not that crazy, and it's not that hard, either... not from my point of view, anyway.  "Forgive them, for they know not what they do."  Isn't that clear enough?

Meh.  I'm not a Christian, and I've never particularly cared what or who people had sex with.  This may just be short-sightedness on my part.

Perhaps you need a few token gay friends to convince yourself that you can in fact separate the "sin" from the "sinner."
