Just got chewed out because when I checked my college stuff this morning apparently the check I sent for my classes was not cashed, or not cashed in time because my classes are not there. At all. Fuck.

I'm not too bummed out about my college classes as I could get a job over the fall to make some money for next semester. But the way my dad reacted just pissed me off as always. First thing he said when we found out?
"It's because you kids are not humble enough to your father!"

Dammit Dad, just because you have beef with my older brother does not mean you can say crap like that. I have never yelled at your or even really dared to speak to you because I'm slightly frightened of you. And now you say that crap about me?
I'm frightened of my Dad too Duke.

Dad is great, I don't see any reason to fear him.

Your dad continues to sound really weird.

Anyway, call the college and find out what happened and what you can do about it.  I've been late on tuition payments before.  It doesn't mean you have to miss the semester.

My dad cannot use stairs on cold mornings or turn corners if he runs.

My dad refuses to stop speaking in a foreign accent or randomly spouting Russian, Japanese, and German.  Why say "I have a beautiful daughter!" when you can say it in Russian?  Why say "Wow, that's great" when you can say it in Japanese?  If you can make fun of a show in English, why not do it with a bad Korean accent?

He's American, by the way.  Not "immigrant American," just ... long-term, many-generations American.

He also has a thing for the words jejune and banal.  Literally, if a normal person would say "boring," he inserts "so jejune and banal," just like that, every time.  Extra points if he's pretending to be Bob Dylan while he does so.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

Dads are there to be weird and a bit embarrassing to you, but to your chagrin, perceived as awesome and eccentric by other people.

Your dad sounds awesome, Vector.

He is awesome.  He's also a pain in the ass, but he was the one who taught me to make bad trilingual puns.

My entire extended family is this eccentric, to be honest.  There's a yearly party where everyone dresses up like fairies and dances in the moonlight, and as one of the cousins typically says:

"Well, our get-togethers may not be enjoyable, but you always know you'll have a crazy story no one else will believe when it's over."

This rather well describes my own dad. He's talkative and positive and nice to people when talking to them. But at home he's somewhat bossy and over-dramatic about us not meeting arbitrary deadlines and random crap cluttering areas he had no problem with before.

So looking at my stuff I found I could schedule new classes. These require me to leave at 8:00 each morning and stay at campus 'till 6:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 4:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays. A bit of an odd composition too, my Algebra class I failed last semester(I'm so sorry Vector), A graphics deign class, A programming design class and a Mythology class. I am somewhat dubious on how this will work out as some of these classes are only two hours long. I don't have anything for Fridays or the weekends, so I'll look and see if I missed something.

It's okay!  Just keep trying hard this semester, and PM me if there's anything I can help with.

D:

Linear algebra was required for my major.  I dropped it like... four times, and finally passed right before graduation.  Horrible class.

My Dad's worse thing is usually when he mocks my hobbies or life style.

Tell him that he is only doing that because he feels inadequate due to his advancing age.
