I've had some teachers who understand computers.
They were computer teachers and one of them found it hilarious that I made all the homepages in the computer lab open up to Timecube, but they were teachers.
Oh yeah, and a few English and Science teachers who understood the things.

Math and science teachers don't count. They're cool.(all the ones I've had at least)

Note that I didn't include math teachers in my list.
As awesome as my current math teacher is, she has very little experience with any sort of computational device other than calculators.
That said, she is amazing with the 84's programming language, despite not knowing how to operate a normal computer.

Well, my last math teacher was also my first Comp Sci teacher. Even though her knowledge was ancient(the class was on PASCAL), she knew a lot about computers.

Also, my TI-83 plays tic-tac-toe! That took many bored geometry classes to program.

My first and favourite comp teacher gave me extra credit for helping him take apart and build computers and stuff.

Meanwhile,
It bothers me that Chrome only offers a through-browser installer.
Why do they do that?
It's so annoying.
Why not link to a download of an actual installer?

My computer is being annoying. I turn on the monitor, I turn on the computer. And then the monitor says 'No Signal', and goes into sleep mode. It happens again, and again, unless I get the timing perfect. It's really starting to piss me off, and I have no idea what the problem is. I've tried with different monitors, to the same effect.

Then it's a problem with the computer, if multiple monitors don't help. Did you check the connections and the GPU?

Yah huh for the connections, inside and out of the case. I'm not savvy enough to actually check out the GPU. I'm updating my drivers, too. but I doubt it'll help.

Maybe it's my motherboard.

Dwarf Fortress Rule 34.

I was expecting ASCII art and much lulz.

Instead I ended up with generic dwarf nudity and cutebolds. What the hell, internet. No ASCII Rule34? You have failed me.

I am reading House of Leaves, but it's boring me.

I am pretty sure Chrome has a downloadable installer for Windows (and a Deb package for linux)

Ahg, I'm torn on what classes to sign up for this Fall.  I need exactly three more courses to graduate, so I'm trying to pick things that will actually be relevant and informative, but also won't demand a ton of work so I can make sure I pass the hard one I know I need, and so I don't fuck this up at the last moment.

Spoiler: The Final Countdown (click to show/hide)

I'm really just posting this to ask for opinions, which I guess I might get from a couple people.  It's in the sad thread for three reasons.  One is that I'm already enrolled in three courses I can use, none of which I'm excited about.  I'm in worry-lockup about this, which is ridiculous because I have five years of experience at picking classes at the last moment, so you'd think I could make a decision.  And maybe most importantly, my weighing out of effort vs relevancy vs convenience is one more stark reminder that five years of college seems to have imparted almost no real knowledge to me, except a vague understanding of the American government's history, some terrible cramming skills, and a general air of smug superiority.  Oh well, as long as I've got that degree.  And it's not like I don't know what I'm talking about...

Oh, and I'll be going into a Spanish final exam tomorrow at 8AM with about three hours of sleep.  Crap.
