Out of curiosity, do you ever lose your optimism Tiruin? It would be rather difficult for me to keep for very long.

My home is making national news because a woman killed her son by throwing him off a bridge.

I go over the same bridge every day on the way to school. I just went over it not ten minutes ago, actually. Early reports seemed to mention the woman was schizophrenic, but I'm glad that they're apparently not focusing on the "OMG MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE ARE DANGEROUS" angle.

The world is a fucked up place.

They're not sensationalizing it, though, and mention more how she needed help than the sordid details of hearing voices in her head and stuff like that.

I covered for somebody's court appearance, wanting to hope the criminals had learned something, but knowing better in advance. One of many morons came into court with has pants sagging just above his knees. Judges tend to take a dim view of your underwear, or at least having to see it. All I could think was, "Thank god that's not my moron."

It amazes me that this trend is so prevalent today, because it began in prisons as an advertisement for um ... let's just say "adult" activities among inmates (who would of course be the same sex). Given the prevalent anti gay attitude I see, this is surprising and ignorant. In other words, it is the standard level of criminal stupid.

The way I would handle this is by saying something along the lines of, "Hey if you wanna make it easier for the police to catch you, then go right ahead...." The judge just threw him in jail for 3 days for contempt for having his pants so low everybody could see his underwear in court. Go figure.  And of course, he blames his "sucky lawyer," which I thankfully am not. Yes, because it is clearly his fault your pants are constantly down....

They never should have joined the bridge club.

It's always bad news with them...

Urban myth. It did originate in prisons, but the part about it being an advertisement for sex was made up in order to capitalise on the anti-gay attitude that you note in order to try and discourage it, for fear of catching teh gays.

In either case, the dude's a fucktard and needs to be punched in the face.
Preferably by whoever got screwed into being his lawyer.

Wasn't it just a matter of being disallowed belts in prison? That's what I was told.

Not unlikely. Belt + Prisoner = one less Prisoner.

Every time I go grocery shopping here in Canada I'm disappointed. Why can't I even get tasty bread? Everything is just extremely processed and gross...

And apparently the forums don't do daylight savings time... The times don't match up.

My times don't match up with the forum anyway, so I don't notice.

I would totally offer to bring you bread, but the bread around here sucks, too.
