Maybe is just because I'm pessimistic, but most of the sads I read here seem to suggest that no matter how much you do, life is still going to be shit.
Living proof that it's not, here. No matter how bad life gets, you just can't stop fighting. Eventually, you overcome your obstacles. You have to claw and scratch and suffer and bleed and bust your ass to make life work, but you never stop fighting. Never.
Except, you know, for the people who never overcame their obstacles, and their life was -so- painful on a day by day basis that death really was the only release from each one's never ending torment.
I'm living proof that, yes, you can stop fighting and just resign yourself to being miserable. It won't get better no matter how much you claw, scratch, suffer, and/or bleed. You just end up suffering and bleeding again and again. And, eventually, after enough suffering and bleeding you just start to go numb. If you haven't offed yourself before that point, of course.
So, there you go, one more anecdote for the pile.
Or we make a spinoff where the coach is an infant - 80's MZ - and the hero is some fat middle-aged white guy.
Hero: "MZ, I need some advice on training montages."
Kid MZ: "Poop is weird!"
Hero: "..."
Kid MZ: "What? It is."
Hero: "I'll...take that into consideration."
And then, of course, at the end of the movie somehow "Poop is weird" will ultimately be the advice that resolves the largest conflict.
