It's all grey and rainy and I feel bad again.
No change there, I'm British.

Aaaaaaaaargh.

I've been playing Megaman Battle Network 3 lately on an emulator, since I've recently discovered my GBA is busted (not that I played it much in the last few years, but anyhow). The games are pretty repetitive and boring plot-wise and sidequest-wise and a huge pain in the ass cutscene-wise, but I've always enjoyed the combat. So I figured hey, why not challenge myself to finish all the 'after the end boss' stuff? So I go hunt down all 200 regular chips and beat the main secret area boss. Then I go through all this boss rematch time trial stuff, which was even more painstaking because I had a limited chip folder with which to kill some tough cookies in under twenty or so seconds. I finally beat them all, plus some other side stuff, and see that next on the to-do list is collecting all 85 mega chips. Fine, I already have 70, can't take too long. So I spend an hour or two, check my progress, and see that I've got 81/85. Wicked! Only four more!

So I skim through my list, to see what I'm missing (as most of the mega chips are in sets of four). Oddly, all my sets are complete. A quick check against the full list of megachips and it appears that I actually do have them-- oh wait. The last four are from a boss in MMBN3 White. I'm playing MMBN3 Blue. The boss isn't in my game. If I want them, I have to trade with someone else who has them oh wait I can't because I'm playing on an emulator because my GBA is broken aaaaaaaaaaaa

Yeah, fun games even if the story stinks, but that extra stuff is ridiculous. Even when you aren't on an emulator.

Yeah. And I would've had to fight every boss all over again in their 'even harder!' mode as well afterwards. Oh well; I think I'll try out MMBN1 again then. I recall it being much more unforgiving. Always liked that 'real' difficulty over the 'not that interesting but look we made it faster!' difficulty the later games had.

That's actually the only one I haven't played. I'll have to try it out.

I'm finding, it's... a little more dated than I remember. First two levels down. Hopefully it picks up a bit later.

ed- Oh, there's the Nintendo Hard I remember. Grouping enemies that steal my panels with enemies that destroy what's left of them at early stages of the game. Good thing the sequel warmed me up.

I just found out my feet need orthotics.

Either that or get a job that never requires me to stand up, and then have swimming be my only form of excercise.

Not that swimming isn't the best form of excercise regardless.

I know all too well how much life sucks when just walking is a painful chore.  But even curing that aside, don't let a little thing like orthotics get you down.  You're like halfway to being a cyborg.  And that's cool.

Especially considering I'm also Lumberjack Batman.

Contrary to what Captain Planet would tell you, the Fifth Element is "Hot Red-headed Chick".
