Welcome to the Parallel World Mafia.
You are in World Beta.
1. You may NOT PM to anyone except to me. Furthermore, ALL discussion about this game, even indirectly, can only occur in this thread or on established quick topics.
2. All votes must be colored red. To avoid confusion, only use that color when you are voting for someone. No Lynch votes are allowed.
3. Days will last for 2 days or until the conversation dies down. Nights will last 24 hours or until all night roles have been sent to me. The deadline will be posted regularly and I retain the ability to hurry the deadline for inactivity or extend the deadline if enough request it. Note that any deadline that falls on a weekend will be pushed back to the following Monday.
Upon deadline, the player with the most votes will be lynched. If there is a tie, there will be no lynch.
Once dead, you may not speak or PM anyone about the game, living or otherwise. A Dead chat will be made available. A 'bah' post will be allowed if it does not have any in-game information.
Mafia will be given their own Chat to speak to one another once roles have been sent.
Bolded sentences can be used to catch my attention. Italics used by me is flavor and is just there to be interesting.
Lastly, do NOT quote my PM text and do NOT edit your posts (you can double post if you need to)
You can, of course, ask any questions you may have.
Note: both worlds are considered 'one game' for this rule. You may speak about the Beta world while in Alpha and visa-versa. This also goes for quick chats.
This game and the other are linked. Each seperate game is considered a 'world'.
The deadlines will always be in sync: days and nights will start and end at the same time in both worlds. Note that extensions/shortenings/and skips will always apply to both worlds.
Many of the players are in both 'worlds'. These Parallels have been given random roles in each game. They may have the same role in both or may have different roles. This also applies to the Mafia.
Mafia with a secondary role may kill and use their role at the same time.
Parallels with roles have the option of using their power in either world (a cop in Alpha can investigate someone in Beta) so long as they are alive in both. Once dead in one world, you lose the power and access in that world. Again, this includes the Mafia's Kill where at least one member is a Parallel.
Those who are vanilla townies/mafias in both worlds may Doublevote. To achieve this, do not vote for anyone (No Lynch or simply not voting at all is fine) in one world while voting in another world. No statement of this effect occuring will be mentioned.
Once one world is considered won (either for town or mafia) the world continues to exist and travel through day/night phases. All powers and voting abilities are still in effect. However, once the game is won on one side, nothing can change the result.
Those who are not Parallel are called Singles. They may focus only on the world they reside in.
To win as a Parallel, your side must win in BOTH worlds. Singles only need to be concerned of the world they reside in.
Note:
A Parallel that dies in one world is, for all matters concerning Powers, a Single. They still have the same win requirements as before, however.
If a Parallel has lost in one world, they have no means of winning no matter the situation of the other world. If they still exist they will be given the option to Suicide at any time via PM. This removes them completely from the game. Until they do, their character still exists and can work as usual. It is up to them what they wish to do with themselves.
Note: Going permaAFK is NOT an option.. if you wish to keep playing be active.. if you don't then Suicide.
Vanilla: You hold no special power. However, if a Parallel is a Vanilla in both worlds, they may Doublevote by refusing to vote in one world while voting in another.
Cop: Each night, you may investigate one player. You will then be told if they are mafia or town.
Rolecop: Each night, you may investigate one player. You will then be told their role. If you investigate a Parallel, you must specify a specific world.
Roleblocker: Each night, you may block one player. That player will be unable to use their power for that night.
Redirecter: Each night, you may redirect the power of one player to another player. To redirect, you choose the one using the power and the one you wish to target. You cannot redirect the power to the same person within the same world (you can redirect Sameperson-Alpha to Sameperson-Beta, but not Sameperson-Alpha to Sameperson-Alpha). You may redirect a power across worlds if you are a Parallel.
Bus Driver: Each night, you may choose two people. Those people will switch places, causing any effect on one to, instead, effect the other. You may not target yourself. Singles may not switch with other worlds. If targeting a Parallel, specify the world they exist in. (yes, you may Switch Sameperson-Alpha with Sameperson-Beta)
Untouchable/Royalty: A rare role, only held by townspeople and can be held on top of a power role. If a Royalty is killed, the next day phase of BOTH worlds will be skipped. Untouchables, in contrast, will skip the next night phase. Note that if one exists, the other must exist somewhere in either world.
