EDIT: I'm a bit tipsy right now, which is probably contributing to it.

On the whole, I'm definitely a lot better than I used to be. In a couple of months I'll be celebrating roughly a year without being depressed, which after spending a solid 5 years with depression that's been on-and-off suicidal is downright wonderful.

For what it's worth, there probably are people that do repo work on books, it's just... they're not in public libraries. That's the kind of thing you see in high end private stuff, or specialized archival libraries or whatev', and is probably contracted work rather than a dedicated position in the library itself. Your average public library doesn't have the funds or the reason (they don't tend to carry super expensive or rare books to begin with!) to have a specific person for that kind of thing.

Plenty have just given up more or less entirely on tracking down media that walks off, for that matter -- it's often less trouble to just repurchase if it's worth keeping around, and libraries have found that not trying to levy fines or whatev' actually tends to work better for getting stuff back. It's a weird thing where some libraries that stop charging fees find their budget increases, 'cause people are more likely to just bring stuff back and they spend less staff hours on enforcement and processing.

... that said, it 100% is a fiction prompt, and one I'm pretty sure I've seen both in writing and manga. Fancy magic/secret libraries, mostly. Lots of sexual tension.

Canned laughter always ruins the jokes in a show, I don't need them to decide what's funny I can do that on my own.


Also forgot to mention it but I got a free car from a family friend recently, hoping I can get it running soon so I can use it to haul feed and stuff and not have to worry about damaging cars we spent money on going down crappy roads.

I wanted to say, that’s usually not a laugh track in Seinfeld. The show was filmed in front of a live audience.

In TV, that means they record laughs before the show the play them back on the recording whenever they want a laugh. They do this both for sit-coms as well as quiz comedies/panel comedies.

I guess it's not a 'happy' explicitly, but if I had to put it into one of the big 'things that made you foo today' threads it'd be here.

Was a nice day today.  The weather was Sunny and 50^of today.  A nice break from 0 degrees.  I got home just now and out of my car, looked up and saw a few stars in the deep blue of the last rays of twilight.  Not black, but dark blue with a subtle gradient.  And I wished I knew the level of exposure a camera would need to capture that faithfully.

Because I dont know, and my iphone certainly cant capture it.
