Visual snow's just one of those things some people have. Comes with certain conditions, but a number of people have idiopathic visual snow. I'd imagine it's either just the nerves, cones or rods firing off when they shouldn't for some reason or other, or the brain attempting to "fill in" visual voids.

I think I have those. But only on snowy nights. It's like as if it is snowing inside the house. Eerie, but beautiful.

It's less like actual snow and more like static.

Oh, I get it. I've never had this in that case.

Eyes are on the fritz, I recommend you adjust the knob to try to get them to clear up, whack them a few times, or maybe try putting some tin foil on the antennas. If that don't work then bring'em in a for a replacement.

Just be mindful of accidentally voiding the warranty. Though it might also be a case of planned obsolescence causing them to malfunction.

Specifically, at least in my case, it's like TV snow/static (is where the term comes from) mixed with a soap bubble or that iridescent shine on spilled oil, at like 90-95% transparency or whatever.

One thing that image doesn't help get across is that it never stops moving (the other big thing is that it's not nearly so undifferentiated -- colors can group up, move around like you see on a bubble, etc.). If you're born with it and it doesn't come and go, you will have never experienced a time where the things you see were actually still. You just flat out don't have a lived experience for visual stillness.

... also it's quite beautiful, generally. Sometimes distracting and it takes some getting used to even if you're born with it (I was absolutely terrified of darkness for most of my pre-teen years, because it 100% looked like there were giant amoeba like blobs floating in it and I was scared they would eat me), but beautiful. I've spent time waiting for stuff just staring at walls before, it's like you've got a screensaver in your brain.

That sounds a bit like the migraine auras I get. Rainbow-like shapes on the peripheries of my vision, usually zig-zag shaped, and sort of moving about.

I'm fortunate that I haven't had nearly as many migraines in my adulthood as I did as a troubled teenager, but I can probably reasonably conclude I've got some photosensitivity issues and a persistent twitch or tic to go with it. Dunno that I can play my favorite hack & slash much any more since playing it for more than an hour leaves me feeling like I've got a live wire running through me somewhere.

Migraine aura was always like someone had just erased the area of vision just to the right of my point of focus. I'd notice it in school because half of the next word I'd be reading would be just gone. Not black, not static, just as much vision as you see looking out your elbow.

Brains do be braining weird.

I get visual snow for a short while when I suffer some G-forces, so to speak. E.g from falling. Like off my bike.

Despite a recent resurgence of the mystery illness, I managed to make it through a Jitsu session without any breaks for the first time since it started affecting me.

Hopefully indicates that it's coming to an end.

EDIT:

Found out that about three weeks ago, dipshit bigot extraordinaire Andrew Tate decided to have a Reddit AMA. He got roasted so badly by people asking him why he was a shitty human being, why he was raided by the FBI, why he moved to Romania (which is notoriously soft on sexual predators) after allegations of sexual assault came to light, etc. etc. that he actually deleted his account and basically ran to the hills.
