I made pork chops with fried apples and onions in an apricot Moscato reduction. Mashed potatoes on the side.

I learned to deglaze and do a reduction at the same time! And it was good!

I drove a cab for a while years ago and my cab was originally a 2001 crown vic interceptor package, all rumbly and whistling intake sounds and comfy ride over damn near anything.

I recall bombing down the highway doing at least 70 in Louisville which I'm pretty sure was still a 55 mph limit, with a cop two lanes over cruising with me, he nods, I nod, we keep rollin' on down the road. He knew Vics aren't happy at 55, it puts you too high in the powerband or it lugs when it upshifts, but 70 is where it just kinda purrs like a big happy cheetah.

I had a sad yesterday, was using my carcase saw (as in a saw for making the case which drawers go in, also known as a dresser carcase when empty) on some 2x4's to put a big dovetail on them for the practice and felt the weak spot on the handle pop in my grip...

Spoiler: Thankfully I had an early walnut handle experiment which I've been reshaping to suit it. (click to show/hide)

The older handle was actually the waste cut off from a different handle (make two C shapes with your hands and put your right thumb in the open side of the left C, if you cut a piece of wood to free the C on the right you can do it in a way that leaves the C on the left intact) and I had to make too many compromises on the dimensions to get it working which ended up being the reason it broke, though had I not been hacking at 2x4's it probably would have lasted longer... but I think I'm happier with the replacement now that I'm finishing the shaping out.

Wow, finding a new tape of delightful blackened thrash in the mailbox upon arriving home had a surprisingly positive effect on my previously terrible mood.

Now instead of lying on the floor drinking beers and longing for a prompt cessation of existence I am slouching on the couch drinking beers and headbanging instead!

We got a little time to ourselves and were treated sushi! Haven't eaten that in years, and it was top stuff!
