I prefer shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear practical for the local climate probably 8.5 months out of the year. I tend to go cargo shorts for the extra pockets because I'm a nerd that likes to drag his 3DS around with him :V

Oh man. I had this favorite pair of Cargo Shorts I wore for -years-. I loved the pockets; I'd fill 'em with cool rocks, notebooks for sketching and scribbling ideas in, snacks and water for when I went hiking, my old Gameboy Color, library books to read (I had a copy of The Hobbit that would fit in the big pocket too)... fond memories. The stuff I carried changed, but I still like my pants with good-sized pockets. :3

But yeah, what Eric Blank said goes for my area too. Thorn bushes and burrs, plus mosquitoes (or even ticks, depending on where you go), make shorts pretty undesirable. And even in the cities, shorts are only viable for 3 or 4 months out of the year; they're a recipe for hypothermia or even frostbite for the rest.

Pockets are the best. I always stuff random things in them and then forget about it. Finding money, candies, trinkets, coins, dice and other stuff is always a pleasant surprise~
Being able to carry storage space with you in general is awesome. Pants pockets, jacket pockets, shirt pockets, messenger bags... those are all the best.

Pants and other pocketed clothing are great! Given my forgetfulness at times, they're where I can search if I ever forget as a priority--only problem is putting them in the wash back a few years younger >_> A lot of fun 'paperball' issues came up, because I've been stuffing my pockets with notes and snippets until I got this nice pad of paper for writing.
...However I lack a lot of knowledge about clothes and just wore what fit and what protected my everything to the weather, because utilitarian things were how I went with everything >_> So I've no idea what denim or all else is.

I've never tried a skirt for a long time though. (Hello childhood me.) x_x In mountainous weather--everyone goes pants. Because it's cold, and that the flora are pretty...sticky to the legs or ankle region, alongside the high frequency of pine needles everywhere, so one can easily notice the foreigners only by clothing (We have a ton of south koreans here, and their fashion seems to focus on short shorts and the like, so...yeah. Pretty chilly weather + that kind of garb = x_x)

Skirts and dresses are nice, but I do also enjoy me a good pair of jeans/shorts. Honestly, my favourite legwear is shorter shorts, because A. I live in new zealand and B. have a nice butt :3


I just use my parka, which has around 11-13 pockets to store things.

if you're handy with sewing, you can make your own skirts pretty easily for dirt cheap AND put in as many pockets as you want

I'd always figured skirts ought to have a buttoned pocket on every segment. Especially makes sense for ones that seem divided into segments.

at least, that's my theory as to why women's clothing never has any fucking pockets
