               b) potentially addictive

                d) changes you temporarily or semi-permanently into a bumbling fool.

Sometimes it's only mild drawbacks, depending on how much you drink. And after all, I suppose it feels good or people wouldn't do it, so maybe that outweighs any disadvantages. Not for me, though.

I can tack up a lot of what people say as idiocy and people still bother to entertain it. The difference is that I know and have seen that alcohol has nearly no positives.
