Yeah I literally just formed the german empire before that picture, and then decided to go to bed since it was nearly 5 am. I wasn't sure what I wanted to jump at next but the major next goal I had was building up a REAL army with all that manpower I now have.

I never really got why salami tactics wouldn't work. Conquer an area where you have good supply lines, wait until you've solidified control enough to move on, then rinse and repeat. You don't have to annex Russia all at once.

Honestly looking at history, the only problem I keep seeing with land wars in Russia is the only people who think to try are megalomaniacs.

OF course they're going to try to eat Russia all in one go and choke on it. I think Gunner-chan can handle it if she could turn a war with france into a curbstomp

It's kinda the facts though. Everyone rushed as deep as they could and lost for it. Because everyone seems to forget how big russia actually is when it's time to fight russia.

I think the idea has always been that most of the people in Russia live in the westernmost portion. Take that quickly, and there's nothing left to fight.

Russians can endure any misery because they were never happy to begin with.

That coin has two sides, though. Me, I'm generally happy with being alive, and if I have to be alive beyond the Urals, I'll be generally happy beyond the Urals, big deal. Avis being alive means Avis - one, rest of the world - fucking zero, git gud scrubs.

I don't even mean to say "my life is so bad and dangerous I'm happy to be alive, oh woe is me". It's actually sort of alright, even by European standards. It's just that one weans oneself off of stability as a requirement for happiness if one actually wants to be happy.

That is what I meant when I said "Sort of alright even by European standards", yes, that is so. But to be fair, so are most large Russian cities. Including some beyond the aforementioned Urals, like, I dunno, Yekaterinburg or Vladivostok or even Omsk, regardless of what one might rightfully say about Omsk.
