All the recent robot stuff makes me question what I want to do in college. I was planning on computer science, programming and artificial intelligence. On the other hand, GIANT ROBOTS. Which would probably be engineering and electronics.

So it falls down to "do I want to try and help contribute to making artificial intelligence as smart as humans, or do I want to help make GIANT ROBOTS AND MECHS?" I want to do both, but that is probably extremely unfeasible for a single person.

This is the best kind of indecision. I'm geeking out so much now aaaaaa

Well, I mean, is their robot fast? If you're fast enough, and/or hardy enough, you could in theory tank a few hits from the murican one and while it reloads, make robot sushi :D

Fake edit: Though depending on how quick the cannonball reloads, that probably won't work :P

Three pounds of paint cannonball sounds like it'd do a lot in quick succession.

Here's a test on a junk car.

Against another mech it probably would come down to how armored the opposing mech is. If it's comparable to a junk car it'd probably get dents at worst. If they do an actual robot duel I imagine it'd be done like a sport with points and stuff rather than a to-the-death brawl, considering both mechs are equipped with non-lethal weaponry, especially against another robot. Big paintballs or miniguns that fire bbs don't seem dangerous to a big metal bot.

Either robot seems like it would be good for anti-riot law enforcement or something similar considering the weaponry they have.

The Kuratas probably has the leg up on them in speed considering their respective designs and showcased stuff, but it would definitely need the modification time they mentioned at the end since it was initially built for art reasons while the other one had combat in mind from the start. However it does has modular equipment including a firework and waterbottle launcher and a giant grasper. There's apparently some other listed on their website but I can't tell if they're serious or not for those

As an early birthday and Christmas present I asked my parents and Aunt to contribute to a £580 laptop. They have decided to buy it outright without any contribution from me, saying it's a gift for working so hard for my exams, and because I'm "not really all that bad."

So, in three days I shall have my new laptop. Huzzah!

Oh man, that reminds me of this one day we had here in danishland where it was SO CLOUDY that the light level never really exceeded that of a summer evening. Fairly interesting experience, but also nice for my eyes. :v (also more recently we had a VIOLENT DOWNPOUR that temporarily made it look like dusk outside despite being in the middle of the afternoon)

In other news, i (voluntarily) underwent a round of exposure during group therapy today. On one hand, it was fucking terrifying, but on the other, i felt really good about it afterwards. I now know how cornered animals feel, too. :P
Not gonna bore you with details, but suffice to say, i'm glad that i said yes to it.
