Pop songs are made to be catchy. That's how they market the songs, make it a catchy earworm to as many people as possible to have the widest possible audience of possible buyers.

Got my blue belt at karate today. Sensei congratulated me, said I was the person who has advanced the most and been most consistent since our dojo was made. He also said I was a great example to everyone else

That's what makes me hate them SO DAMN MUCH.

I hate pop songs (not non-rock/metal songs. I can do those, just pop songs), and the fucking earworm effect drives me to insanity.

The other reason I hate them is because they're the only music the media cares about and the artists have massive blindly loving fanbases, but that's another matter entirely.
