I detest the use of nuclear weapons as a WMD, all it does is mess with everything. Nuclear fallout and impact sites aren't all that pretty or useful for the user and much less for the target.
That and I think a 'humanity fuck yeah' conversation should start, mostly because ya know, out of any living thing in this universe we are probably the only one saying to each other,"Ok if you drop your payload of bombs large enough to kill everything on the face of our ONLY planet and home then I will retaliate with an equaly heavy bombardment, so by the end of this all there will be no life on the planet because it was either blown up or irradiated"

Got a baby sitter and went out with my wife to see the final Hobbit movie with my wife. Best valentines day movie ever (thank god she has no interesnt in that 50 shades crap, I chose well). I don't care what people say, I really like the hobbit movies (1st and 3rd WERE the best though). We don't get a chance to have very many good fantasy movies. Also, I am now listening to Miserlou thanks to MZ's post. Hard not to be happy when this song is on.

Here in NZ, we have a news channel that does film reviews (because piss all happens in this country and they have to fill in the time somehow, okay?). Couple of days ago they reviewed 50 Shades of Grey.

They basically said it was unbelievably crap. I love how some people are actually sensible.

Had a friend who was reading that book while in the library. I asked what it was and wondered if its something about art and coloring judging by the book cover (so misleading), she said 'You don't want to read this. It's...ugh,' while shaking her head a bit and after a while, closing the book to return it.

Oh, speaking of 50 shades of crap, I learned today that my local theater (Where my family is over half the workforce, and where I help out/work now and then) has decided to not get it three-odd weeks after it comes out due to fundies.

The one time where I am happy that the fundies do something.


Also, in case you are wondering, the reason why they dident get it first-run is because the studios want you to pay about twice as much, show it for weeks on end, and because someone decided that Paddington and Unbroken where good things instead.

Its actually sorta sad howmany people are interested. Hell, it got to the point where the libraries had months of waiting for the books, and some idiot teen decided to ask if the local highschool was gonna get a copy.

I'm supposed to provide multiple sources for a persuasive speech. Alright, fifteen highly technical books and scientific papers coming right up. I will be very surprised if anyone has a) the ability to actually access all of these sources and b) the time or inclination to actually look through several hundred pages of studies for the parts I specifically need.

Sometimes, being an overachiever is fun.
