As a recent returnee to the school system, I'd like to say that "work", as in performing tasks or providing goods in exchange for currency, is a tremendously different experience from school, in which you still work, but you're paying to do so under the expectation that your efforts will pay off in some way. And, while the terminology is bitchy on the topic of whether or not school is work or living, it is very much amazing to have regularly scheduled breaks that don't require jumping through bureaucratic hoops, all the while praying that the fucking stars align and nobody with seniority beat you to requesting the time off. If your job even permits it.

Hell, I'm just happy to have weekly weekends back.

I miss school.  It was hard work, but it was fulfilling and you had freedom to approach it however the hell you wanted and no one to answer to for the end result besides yourself.

Yup. All this and more. You had friends. Who if you weren't 100% unlucky, you saw outside of the "work" place on occasion. You may have had enemies, but the friends and freedom made up for it.

Once you get a real job, the hard work remains, the fulfillment goes out, the freedom DEFINITELY dries up, and I guess the end result is still your own damn fault, but now other people want your head for it.
Also, you don't see your friends any more, the ones you make at work are never seen outside work, and you will DEFINITELY have enemies. You also feel the urge to use curse words more, and feel worse about doing it.

Unless you luck out and get a job drawing stuff or playing video games or doing something that takes talent that you enjoy. Which only 1/40 people get to do. (Numbers pulled out of my ass)

Anyway, I don't get time off. Don't know if you read my RAGE post earlier, but I worked a double with no help with the flu and a ruptured eardrum today. I'm a bit jealous of people who get time off for any reason other than "You can't work anymore this week."
