I might be biased to notice it more, because I play dota and not lol, but I've never heard more about a video game competition then I heard about the international this year. Although that is a okay advertisement.

so let me let off some steam here by saying that:

it cost me $10 to get 5 rare items and a crapload of other goodies on top of that while it costs league players that much to buy two champions
and dota's heroes are free
like the rest of the gameplay

Yes, you don't necessarily have an advantage with more variety. Perfectly reasonable thing to say in no competitive game ever. Consider you applied the same to Super Smash Brothers Melee. The free characters this week were Captain Falcon, Pikachu, Mario, Ganondorf and Roy. You pick Pikachu. The enemy picks Zelda/Shiek. Shit, you just got counterpicked because they had an advantage due to them grinding or purchasing to get that character. If they're the same matchmaking area/experience level as you and they have that character and you only have the free ones, they pretty clearly paid for it. You cannot say that having more options does not give you an advantage.

I've heard good things.

My rage is monomaniacal and happens to be directed towards the most popular game on the planet (but then it got there entirely by word-of-mouth after attempting to beat the competition into nothingness). It's ridiculously annoying, which is why I'm so miffed about someone doing the comparison game in the happy thread. I have no self-control in the matter.

And somehow that makes it sound like an excuse? It's totally my fault, and I'm aware of that, and that bothers me.

Smite is... if you're already good at MOBAs, or you want to play competitively its probably not impressive.  But if you're just getting started its so much easier to understand than the others, and I really like the 3rd person over the shoulder perspective.  Not because the graphics are better (I don't really care) but because I find it more immersive.

Nono, sprinting makes good exercise. Jogging is only really for shows of endurance. For actual health purposes it's hugely inefficient.
