High school isn't as bad as I thought!

Much fun was had (not much learning since it's still the first days)

Today I learned that the Seniors have a habit of buying baleadas from the cafeteria and throwing them at the Freshmen! Luckily, due to rising baleada prices, that doesn't happen anymore! Inflation saves the day~
On the topic of cafeteria, the HS cafeteria is legendary. They even sell sushi.

Also, I met teachers!
Civics and Spanish class seem to be ok, computer teacher still doesn't know a thing about computers, Science and Math are meh and P.E. Teacher is a really cool guy.

Also, had a WTF moment in Science class.
Teacher: "Well, what scale should we use for our gridded paper model?"
Me: "Half a meter per square!"
Teacher: "No, no. That won't fit. Any others?"
Classmate: "Two squares per meter!"
Teacher: "That'll work!"

Sounds like you're gonna have a much better time than I did last year.

That reminds me, my second year of high school starts soon. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get a locker than opens.

Hehe, seriously, those lockers. Mine had the door put on so it barely fit, so I had to put one foot against another locker and pry it open.

I was then unable to close the locker fully, so I had to palm strike it shut, making sure I hit the edge so I didn't leave a massive dent. Luckily, nobody was around, but after that I decided the locker was too much trouble.

A lot of bad times were had, but also a couple good times.

When I was a senior in high school, they made us stop bringing bags to class. First time I ever used my locker, and I hated it.

We never really had lockers in my highschool. Or well, I think a few of the buildings still did, but they were defunct.
It never ceased to disappoint me. Media had prepared me for countless locker-related shenanigans, and I ended up with just a backpack.

They made us pay for the use of lockers, which I never did. But paying for it was compulsory.

7th grade, needed a locker but 5 minute between class times wasnt feasible for most classes. It made my backpack 105 lbs and had to go through 2 that year. Note, it really didnt affect me since I was 6 foot tall by 6th grade  .

8th grade, new school that didnt allow backpacks during school but only before and after school. That was due to security reasons.

After sofmore year in highschool I could carry all my class material in one bag again, WITHOUT breaking it too. When I started driving, my truck became my locker.

So, lockers were meh to me during school.

O_o ...my school just had normal lockers. Nothing special about, had the locks built into the door. I wound up getting an extra large person sized locker in the art hallway since I took an art class Sophomore year and somehow got to keep the locker for the rest of my time in High School.

Never used the lockers in my high school. No one did, really. Seeing someone actually opening a locker was a rare and odd event that did not occur frequently. I mean, they were normal lockers, just, y'know, no one went to the trouble of using them.

Just carried stuff in my backpack.

My highschool had lockers. I never used mine, instead favouring the lug-a-heavy-bag-around technique that everyone thought I was crazy for doing.
Actually, everyone thought I was crazy anyway, so I don't think it mattered so much.

I remember I used to carry everything in my bag because I was to lazy to look at want I would need for the day. . .let me give you an idea of how heavy it was.

So I'm sitting on a bench at school and my bags sitting on a bench near by and this guy come running pass and try to snatch my bag mid run for a joke the weight of the bag literary stop him in the middle of his run when he graded it and probably almost dislocated his shoulder.

Yeah... I used to want to carry half the books I owned around with me all the time, too.  More than once I casually handed my bag over to someone, who promptly dropped it to the ground yelling "What the fuck!!?"

My high school books for the first half of my senior year were: Psychology, Post-Modern Art, Drawing Techniques, English, and Physics. Yeah, mine was like that, too.

Does carrying around all your books make you stronger?

Mostly makes your posture poor, from what I've seen. I mean, unless you want to be used as a pack mule later in life. Then, you'll already be used to it.
