They had a "buy two, get one free" sale at the game store, so I got White 2, Conquest and Platinum (since my Platinum cartridge has been missing for ages and I've pretty much given up hope of finding it).

Hey, I work at that brand of game store! I just took in a boatload of pokemon games not too long ago, too. Aside from the regular ones, my store got a soulsilver and a trozei.

Funny thing is, ravens are actually incredibly smart by animal standards. I guess hell ravens got the short end of the stick in that regard... well, probably compared to other youkai.

In October of 1985, there was 1 single Blockbuster open in the entire country.

Today, not even 30 years later, there are 50 Blockbusters open and in business.

Looking at those numbers, you'd have to be an idiot not to open a movie rental store at this point. That's a 5,000% growth in business over 29 years, or an average of 172% a year. Do you really want to fall behind in an explosive market like that?

So Wrex' 5th ed Riffgame was a hoot.

First, the group encounters some ninja-goblins who have a nigh-inevitable surprise round, and can escape untraceably if they feel like it. They also managed to drop one player to 0 HP with one attack. The players are then meant to track them, except no real Survival-capable class has been released yet. Fun.

Later, in a village, a player gets confronted by a couple CR1/2 thugs. Alas, he's the one who lost all of his HP, and the devs apparently thought CR1/2 means "triple HP and double attacks of a level 1 character". Of course, he dies. Then again, he set fire to the local shop so he deserved it.

Lastly, they enter an inn for rest and one of the (many) wizards decides to scare the folks with an illusion. Cue the following:

So yeah, that was hilaribad. At least they never made it to the gobbo hideout, which is hell in a handbasket.
