Just got back from the convention, barring one really awkward melodramtic incident that actually triggered a full blown panic attack. The convention was absolutely amazing.
Highlights include:
A Shimakaze cosplay... For which I'm assuming Janet is responsible somehow.
Voice actors telling incredibly amusing stories. Like, "Basically I rank all my anime characters based on whether or not I would invite them to my birthday party." Or, "So yeah, I got into voice acting anime by contracting mono, having to move back in with my parents, then getting my car stolen by my brother. It was the best thing that ever happened to me."
Knight Solaire of Astoria shouting "PRAISE THE SUN!" Which honestly got annoying really fast about fifth or sixth time he did it, but was deeply amusing to me before then.
Cosplay contest was a lot of fun, especially the part where two audience members were tortured for our amusement by a ninja.
Receiving so god damn many hugs and complements. Which was a much needed boost to my self esteem. People were so amazingly nice to me.
Modular Origami! I made a shuriken, and a really pretty modular ball. And at the Origami panel I met a girl in a Dalek dress that spent the next several hours chatting with me while hugging and cuddling the crap out of me... and also beating me with her dalek whisk, because that's just how she rolls (we're currently discussing nicknames and the Welsh language on skype right now).
Overall I had so much fun, I felt the most energetic and maniacally happy I can remember feeling in the past several years.
