When I left my first summer job, I felt really bad. Maybe it's because I liked the people I worked with.

I'm going to bet that's Sales Per Hour, not his paygrade.

At least, my self-esteem really hopes so.
Bingo. I was being paid $10/hour.

Janet somehow accidentally said "Balder side salad" instead of "Balder side sword"

What is with this girl and veggies.
Well, if she keeps eating veggies, she won't want to eat me. So that's good.

Captain America was good. I'm actually surprised that Disney would put out something like it, with how anti-authoritarian it was.

Of course, the sentiment was always fenced in with those details meant to imply "OUR power is ok. It's those other guys that screw things up"... but they felt so half-hearted that you had to be looking for them to notice them. And I felt like the core plot was a pretty good description of where the world has found itself.

As usual with these things, I'll probably notice bits that sour my opinion, after I've had some time to digest it all... but that's how I feel about it right now.

There aren't many better feelings in adult life than quitting a job.

...

Nope.  Can't say I've experienced anything more satisfying.

Edit:  Crap... unintentional double-post.

This is very true.

Had a delicious dinner tonight. Plus a margarita! Which was actually good!

It was my sister's birthday yesterday, so I took her out to see a movie she was excited for (Grand Budapest Hotel). The tiny theater we originally planned to see it in was filled after a few minutes waiting in line, so we decided to check this other theater across town with no idea what time it was (both of us had forgotten our phones), when that theater's showings were, or even whether they were showing that movie at all. We show up after stopping at a gas station, and I shit you not, they had a showing starting in 3 minutes. We got in just as the last preview ended. What the fuck is that lucky bullshit? I don't even know.

As for the movie, I personally don't like Wes Anderson films (So quirky! How Cute! Absurd!), but she really liked it, and it was a good time.

No. No commission, and my team was never good enough to hit bonuses. I carried them to 97%, and the rest of them couldn't get us over 100. If I made commission, I wouldn't be leaving the job.

The first time I quit a job I was actually in tears (it was more of a "you can't quit you're fired/you can't fire me I quit" type thing, though).

All the ones proceeding that were kinda awkward actually, since I'm extremely non-confrontational. "Uh... I'd like to quit. Please?"

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

The only time I quit was because the people at the job were being oh-so-magnaminous to allow me to keep my (rather shitty) job. After calling me in to yell at me for fucking up (deserved, though not quite to the extent they seem to feel it was), they waited another month without giving me any work, and then called me in AGAIN to yell at me for the same damn thing. After that, I was like... "Yeah, I don't think I'm doing this anymore. Good luck." and just left. :v

For me, it was a job I hated with every fiber of my being. To the point where I began actively hoping to get injured on the job so I could stop working (and also sue them for unsafe practices, of which there were many). So quitting felt pretty damn good.

Incidentally, my boss's only reaction was "I'm surprised you stayed for so long".

I quit my factory job for my current one, and man it felt good. Took a bit of a pay cut, but at least here I don't feel like I'm just a piece of the machine.
