Couch update: Half a can of Lysol, a screwdriver, and a lot of grunting and sweating later, the couch is mine and in my room. I had to remove my door from its hinges to get it out of the living room, but I managed it. Now I'm just waiting for the Lysol I soaked the thing with to dry out.

You know, this whole "furniture on streets" thing reminds me of Sicily. Sicilians take national pride in throwing furniture out of windows and just letting it sit there until something happens.
